They will sell you products. Do NOT expect friendly service. Good sized price increase in early '98. One can do better.

They are a very knowledgable and courteous company. Their prices are a little high (usually twice the S&H). But, if problems occur, they will be there for you until it's resolved.

Shipping, however, was a shock! It was probably twice
what anyone else would have charged. Still, good
company. Just be prepared.

Service was excellent. Shipping took about five days. Their prices were as competive as anyone. Their shipping and handling costs are minimal compared to some other mail order vendors.

Service was great, professional and friendly. Didnt try to sell me anything else. Price was about the same as other mail orders but were offering free delivery. They said it would take 4 business days to receive and I got it in 4 business days. No surprises, couldnt be happier.

My name is Keith Curtis and I have dealt with Astronomics on at least two occasions. Their service is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The prices are competitive with everyone else. When an item is not in stock or is back ordered,they tell you the truth from the start. Shipping may be a little steep but I know i will receive my purchase as soon as they receive shipment.

Courteous and knowledgeable Perry was patient and helpful with all my questions in the middle of the Christmas rush. My Pentax eyepiece order (via their toll free phone) arrived as promised factory packed and on time. Prices were good as I've found for my item. I was very pleased with the whole experience. Will probably order additional items and if these folks carry it, they will get my business. Give 'em a 10 ! CBC in Austin.

I ordered a Celestron G5 and accessories from Astronomics. The person I talked to on the phone was helpful and courteous. The prices were as good as any. The shipping and handling was actually cheaper than what I was quoted from AstroPTX. The scope arrived sooner than was promised with all components in perfect shape. I haven't had any problems, so I can evaluate their after-sale service. I would, however, buy from them again and recommend them to others. I give them a 10

Astronomics ripped me off. The drives in my scope never worked properly. They finally said they would give me 2,100 (paid 2,900) for it if I sent it back. I sent it back via UPS, they only credited my account for 1,400. I called them and they said the entire scope was dead, nothing worked electonically so they deducted 700 dollars to fix it before they could sell it. I explained to them that all the electronics worked before I shipped it, the said the box was in good shape so it was not dropped. After weeks of discussion I ended up with 1,400 dollars for a 2,900 dollars worth of equipment that never functioned as advertised. I would not recommend Astronomics to anyone. I would probably recommend Lumicon, they have been very nice.

In July 98 I ordered from Lumicon one Televue Nagler eyepice. I ordered what they had in stock. What was not in stock I ordered from Astronomics (paid little bit more then from Lumicon but was in stock). From both I received everything on time, brand new and very good packed. Also got good advices from both. I can recommend both companies.

Yes, Fred (the owner) can be a little blunt at times, but he gives good advice. The rest of the staff have always been very polite. I have never had any problems with Astronomics, and now order from them exclusivley, if they carry what I need.
