Every time I have the chance to compare similar binoculars the results are the same - the Leitz Trino's are waaay better than the others. In fact, I have a similar pair of Zeiss miniature roof prism types that also are a pleasure to look through, but are not quite up to the Leitz in overall optical quality. My eyes are very sensitive to collimation and power matching of the barrels, and I usually get a severe headache after only a couple minutes using nearly any of the inexpensive binoc's of the Swift/Bushnell/Tasco variety. The little Leitz, however, is relaxing to my eyes, a pleasure to use and with a field that is surprisingly flat, well-corrected and with minimal softness at the periphery. Truly an example of how much small roof prism types have evolved since the 40's.
