I bought at SD because of the price. The price on my HK320 was $200 less than local, the HKTS 5 speakers were $60 less. I figure $300 savings overall. The merchandise arrived on schedule in new condition. I was leary of purchasing something this expensive over the Web from a company I knew nothing about, but I am a believer now!

The prices are great, service is top notch! The only drawback would be that HK does not honor the warranty on Web purchases, but Sound Distributors honors the manufacturers warranty.

Ordered a speaker on Feb 1. Was emailed on Feb 4 that it was on backorder and due in later that week or early next week. Said I would wait. Mid next week wrote to ask if it had shipped. Was emailed back would ship Monday (Feb 18). Found out it didn't ship til 25th. Supposed to arrive on 28th. Now March, still no speaker.

Update. I'm the Feb 1 speaker order post. While I had a tracking number and arrival date of the 28th from S.D. no speaker has shown on 28th or today, Mar 1 (UPS shows an exception on their web site for today and yesterday). I called UPS (they normally just leave packages for me and after a 'no show' yesterday I left a sign for them to please leave the package if I'm not there today). Apparently S.D. has shipped this so that I must physically be there to take possession, which I cannot do (I'm at work during those times). I was not told the speaker would be shipped with this restriction. So, I've asked UPS to hold the package at their warehouse (no other way for me to get it) and if I can find the warehouse (its some 20 miles from here in an unfamiliar part of town) I may be able to finally get the speaker next Monday, March 4. Still, S.D.didn't ship when they said they would (I found this out after wondering why they didn't email me a tracking number after the supposed ship date ). And, I'm really not happy with how this was shipped, since the 'must be there to accept' restriction was never told to me beforehand.

Well, my first purchase from SD wasn't a perfect experience, but at least it gave me the opportunity to see how well they handle problems.

I purchased a pair of Klipsch RF-7 speakers, for what I think is a very good price. When they arrived, one of the speakers had been damaged shipping. I sent email to SD informing them of the problem, and received a reply within 1/2 hour. There was some problem getting the shipping company to pick up the broken speaker, but SD shiped out the replacement before the broken speaker was picked up (so I wouldn't have to wait).

I don't think any of the problems I encountered were the fault of SD. Every time I sent email or called on the phone, they were there, so I was sure the problems would be resolved, and they were. Now, I have a pair of RF-7 speakers for a price that I could have paid for RF-5s.

I'd buy from them again, and probably will.

I don't know what others have experienced but the service and shipping was better than any other on-line electronics company I've used. I ordered from SD and another company on the same day and SD beat them in every catagory. Not to mention Eric's incredibly courteous help in making an adjustment to my order.

i bought a denon 1802 receiver and energy 5.2 speaker system with a little trepidation from sound distributors. a little nervous about internet only and the rebate policy but with a savings of about $250 over good guys i went with them and was pleasantly surprised. the system came 5 days after ordering in great shape and i am very satisfied. if the system has some problems that might be another story but i couldn't be happier 2 weeks after ordering.
