B&W DM 603
A darn god loudspeaker from B&W, I realy like it!! It`s a little bitt slow in the low area, but in the midrange it`s a winner!

We are new to the home audio market but ears are ears...One listen to the B&W DM-603s and we needed to listen no more. We of course did compare them to others similar in price and design. For example NHT, Polk Audio, etc. NO COMPARISON. Trust me, listen to these and you will want nothing else. I have seen some write ups stating that these speakers lack in bass. While it is true they do not replace a subwoofer (they aren't supposed to), you will not notice any bass missing from your music.

Great speakers. Lackin' a bit of bass definition when pushed hard, and the bass is a bit softer then it should be. Sounds very nice with every type of music.

P.S. (603's aren't hi-end as someone wrote before me, not even close)

Whether they are high end or not does not matter to me as long as they sound better for music and home theater than ALL the other speakers I have listened to in the same price range (500$ to 2000$) and type, and they do ! Imaging and definition are very good and highs & midranges are just fabulous. Bass is not the strong point of this speaker but I kind of see that as being the price to pay when you want neutrality. That makes me feel better.. But don't get me wrong, the bass is very clean and deep enough for most people. No comparisons with JBL HS series, Missions, Infinity, Polk Audio etc, and significantly better than 2000$ Mirages and 1500$ JMLabs.

These speakers are one of the worst values in audio. Not only do they have a passive radiator, but they have a port as well.
Having a port and passive radiator is redundant and gimmicky. They put the passive there to make consumers think they are getting a real woofer. A passive radiator does not a woofer make.
These speakers have terrible bass response, lack in overall clarity and transparency and have mediocre sound at best. Avoid these cannons and look elswhere. You would be far better off with speakers from Pinnacle Classic Gold line, Paradigm, RBHsound, etc.

Avoid, avoid, avoid !!!

The only reason why I didn't rate them lower is that they are still better than Bose and Klipsh.

These speakers sound better than a lot of higher rated speakers on this sight, but at their cost, they are over priced. Like everyone before me, I also had a problem with the bass (mushy). I had these and took them back after three months. Decided to purchase a pair of Dynaudio Audience 70's. More expensive yes. The difference is, the sound/price ratio (in my ears) is justifiable--not so with the B&W's. B&W carries a big name which causes a lot of people to buy their speakers. If one can afford the 800 series, then they have probably made a wise choice (I would still choose Dynaudio Contour series);however, the 600 and even cdm series aren't all they are cracked up to be. Don't let name sake get in the way of what your ears are telling you. With that said, if your ears tell you that the speakers are great, then buy 'em.

The bass is missing the treble is nonexistant the midrange feels barking and harsh, they are some of the absolutely worst speakers i've ever listened to.

B&W DM 603
I have bought the 603-series2 and are very pleased with them.
They sound really fine, performances come to life at high levels and with more complicated music (jazz, classic)
Drums and vocals are really lively.
bass and mid-range is fine, the nautilus-tweeter is very detailled, but i have to reduce the treble a bit to balance the sound, this and the plastic-wood-finish are my only remarks.

Look guys, these speakers are definitely not high end, high end would be a pair of 801's or 802's. What these speakers are, is value, big value. Dollar for dollar they are hard to beat by all the other companies. I used to have a pair, but have upgraded to the CDM 9NT's. The new speakers sound alot nicer, but it shows in the price. the 603's are an amazing speaker for the price, but definitely not high end or they wouldn't be so far down on B&W's list. The Nautilus series make my CDM's sound low end!!!!!!!

Ihad a pair of these speakers for approx one year and found them good at first.however while in london I happened to hear a pair of KEF REF 4.2
speakers. When I got back home I found the 603,s unbearable.I have since bought a pair of 4.2,s and when I tried an a/b comparision the b&w,s were quickly dispatched to oblivion.
603,s=not hi-fi

Not one of the better speakers that I heard from B&W. Bloated bass with recessed sounding mids. The bass plugs didn't help nor biwiring. Ended up returning the speakers and upgrading to the CDM line.
