These bookselfs speakers are simply the best for the price point. The sound is clean and with no color. The imaging is the best I have heard for this level of speakers. I have 5 I use for Home Theather...simply awsome. I did compare these to the B&W 301's as well as the Energy 5's, this speaker is better!
Thats why I give it a 10.

High end sound for mid-fi bucks. The accuracy and imaging are very
good by any standard, and unbelievable for the price. Bass is adequate
for music, but a subwoofer is required for home theater. A huge bargain,
but you probably shouldn't use them with cheap recievers or CD players,
or the faults of the rest of your system will be too apparent.

These are the best speakers in their price range I have ever heard. You need lots of power to run them. The bass drops off below about 100 hz, so a subwoofer is a good addition. With a sub, the SuperOne is good enough to be a main speaker in most systems.

I do not give max points cos i have'nt found the perfect speaker yet. These speakers have excellent imaging and a very transparent and refine midrange. Bass is sufficient and even incredible for its size. one itsy bitsy drawback is that it can sound bright with certain amps so they need careful matching.

I have the NHT Super One Xus which I use with a Harman Kardon receiver and a Marantz special edition CD player. The sound quality over the full range of the speaker is excellent. It would be hard to tell in a blind test that you were listening to a bookshelf speaker as the bass is very solid. Lots detail and good dispersion from the tweeters. These speakers should satisfy anyones needs who doesn't want to spent a lot of money. I gave it a 9 because the next level is something like the KEF RDM 2s which cost over $1000 but are superlative.

I realized too late that I really did not need
the NHT SA2 subwoofer. The Super One's do the job.

the units worked without a problem out of the box. the fit and finish was impecable. the sound was terrible. They sound too harsh and brittle. They actually hurt my ears. To me they were the worse speakers I ever heard. My musical tatses range from classic to rock to soul music.

I've had five Superones in my hometheater for a year now. Are they the ultimate giant killer? No. But at $350 a pair, they are better than you might expect. Can play loud without much strain, good clarity, exellent soundstage, reasonably tight bass.Build quality was good on my five examples, not great. Anyway, I give it a solid eight; if i could bi-wire em' I'd be a lot happer with them. But I love the slightly siblant NHY sound. I'm upgrading to VT1.2's next year.

These sound better to me for video than the much more expensive NHTs that were designed for video! Of course, they are used with a good subwoofer.

I purchased these speakers for music as part of my bedroom system, not for home theater. The treble was harsh metallic and grainy. Mids were pretty good. Bass fair.
Listener fatigue sets in rapidly. They were driven by an HK AVR30, a stereophile recommended receiver from 1994-1995. They were replaced by a pair of Sound Dynamics 300TI. A much sweeter better sounding speaker.

I've been very pleased with these speakers (using 5 + Sw2pi sub for a home theater setup). Sound is exceptionally clear and realistic. Listening to Denon surround test tracks makes you feel as if you're right in the middle of a rainstorm/airport runway/band, etc. I tested Klipsch (2.1 and 3.1), DefTech ProCinema, Take5, several different levels of JBL and Infinity, and the small home theater Polks offered by CircuitCity. These are BY FAR the best. I was amazed at the sound I heard in the listening room, but I was absolutely stunned at how good they sounded once I got them home. For my tastes, they are wonderful for music and home theater both. (By the way, try Uncle's Stereo for a good price).

The only thing I would like is for them to be a little louder (86db sensitivity eats up the power pretty well).

I am very happy with these speakers. Right out of the box, the treble is smooth but the midrange is veiled. A couple of days after, the mids open up and the bass gets more extended and tight. It has wide and deep soundstage (for the price) and its pinpoint imaging is the probably the best in its class. It is very revealing and it will uncover poor recorded CDs. (Amp: NAD 314 + CD: NAD 515 + Audioquest Turquiose Interconnect + Audioquest Type 6 speaker cable).

My rated is conditioned largely on the very low and, IMO, out of sync with careful listening. I listen to a lot of Jazz. The Super Ones are simply a kitchen 3rd system. But when I go down to my main system at $30K plus I can immediately tell you about the law of very fast dimensioning returns in the areas of mid-range and treble detail and pace of the music. This is a musical speaker with very good fit and finish for the price.

For Home Theater use, which is better between B&W 602 S2 and NHT super one ? Super one's sensitivity only get 86db while 602 S2 get 90db. So, will the loudness of super one be smaller than b&w 602s2 ? I am using sony str-828 with 100w per channel.
Pls give me comment by email ryosaeba00.yahoo.com

Thank you
