DGM Optics OA-5.5
I recieved delivery of my highly anticipated OA 5.5 in. dob
in January. Optical engineer Mike Palimerti's rave on DGM's
4 in. OA. compelled me to go for the five and a half in.
off-axis scope. all the acolades are well founded.
A big apo would be real nice but it's about five grand
outside of my budget. This telescope fits the bill!
ergonomics are smooth as silk with the yoke mounting,
enabling one to view any object comfortably
This telescope performs well in less than favorable seeing
Obsvered the the E and F elements (six stars!) in the
Trapezeum last night acompanied with nearly a full moon!!
Have also been keeping track of Mars snuggled up to
Scorpius just before dawn here in S. Florida. Cant wait
untill August when it reaches it's historic oposition.
Anyone out there scratching their head concerning the
capabillity of this telescope and it's unconventional
aproach ,think no further...this is an excelent performer.
I have no trouble handling 300x in steady seeing.
Mr. DGM, Dan McShane is a real gentleman to do business
with. Clearskys w/ your new DGM OFF-AXIS TELESCOPE!
