Omcom 708
i have this scope its midway between the f5 and the f11,optically its better than the f5,there is color around the usual brigth objects, defenitly less color than the f5,but still not a planetery scope, very good low power views with casual look at the planets,i will replace it ither with the stellarviu f6 or the megrez by william optics.

Omcom 708
priced at about the same as the skywatcher 102, this little scope has a japanese objective, baffled drawtube and only a 1.25" focuser. assembled by omcon, the parts are much the same but finish feels a
bit nicer than the synta scopes.

in side-by-side comparisons with the 102 it's obvious: the 102 grabs more light, but has lots of color. the 708 does great on planets, has a nice "snap" focus and less-mushy star test. details on jupiter that leap out at you with the 708 are there in the 102, but you need to hunt for them.

a good quality general-purpose grab-and-go scope, probably not on par
with a ranger or stellarvue but still fun for the money.
