Parks 6" f/8 Astrolight
This scope does about everything well. The optics perform very well with tack sharp stars. The entire scope says quality. The focuser a smooth, all metal type which is rare these days. The mount is a Vixen Super Polaris which is stable and smooth. The optical tube is also fiberglass which looks great and is very durable. Even the tube trim rings and caps look like quality pieces. This Newtonian looks nice enough to be kept in your living room. The only complaint I have with the scope is that the wooden tripod is much too tall (even when I'm 6'-1") for an Newtonian telescope. I have fixed this by simply shortening the legs. This also seemed to make the mount even more solid.

looked through one of these on loan from my local astronomy club
haven't purchased one yet but i will
i startested it on rigel at 240x and compared images either side of focus
and found star images very close in appearance.
i havent seen a scope which has the same pattern either side yet in 11
years of observing
images are very close to perfect, and planetary detail up to 300x
and slighly above is excellent
mechancally this scope is very good, probably a bit heavy and old in
technology.
Focuser and finder are good not excellent.
Optically is where this scope is excellent
the optics in my opinion are better than 1/10 wave
I come to this conclusion using the startest and the autocollimated
ronchi test on a bench.
on planetary images in very good conditions i have used 320x without losing
any sharpness, but contrast was reduced dramatically.
this is very good for a telescope of this size, you wont get this from
a starhopper or starfinder.

overall mechanically good, optically they dont come much better.

This scope optically is excellent. Good contrast and perfect star test. The optic tube is glossy fiberglass from the outside (looks cool) with a rough, blackened inside surface. It looks very professional and the inside texture probably adds to the contrast. The Super Polaris mount with the wood legs (older mount, made in Japan) is also excellent. I've heard the newer SP mounts with metal legs don't dampen vibration as well. The finder scope is only a 6x30, but it's good quality with a right angle prism. The eyepiece provided is a "good quality" Kellner 25mm. For the price and quality of this scope, Parks should supply one of their gold series plossls. Overall this scope is a 10, but I take a point off for value.
