Incredible and amazing refractor!
Few other 4" refractor can be compare with it!! ...
This refractor is so good that I decide to sell my Schmitt Cassegrain 8" !!

Took in first light 2 nights ago. 4 and a half hours with my jaw slack. The EM-10 USD mount is also a dream machine. I still can NOT believe this is only a 4" objective.

I am the very proud owner of a Tak FS-102. I also own a C8, but I have rarely looked through it since I bought the Tak. Everything about this telescope is text book perfect. I've mounted my Tak on a Losmandy GM-8. It's rock solid, highly portable, and a delight beyond words to use. There's nothing like owning one. Even on the cloudiest nights I get immense pleasure from simply admiring the aesthetics of the Takahashi set up in my living room. A Most Excellant Telescope! Sharp, crisp images. Very contrasty! Outperforms my Meade 12" LX200 in optics. Has no limit on eyepiece magnification.

PERFECT STARS, PERFECT CONTRAST, NO COLOR, SMOOTH FOCUSER (THE BEST I HAVE EVER USED BY A WIDE MARGIN). THE ONLY THING DIFFICULT IS WRITING THE CHECK.

The scope is crisp and resolves beautifully. Just looking at the contrast between the pinpoint stars and jet black space makes you feel like you're
among the heavens. ...and amazing amazing detail to be seen on the moon, even
at 500x. Have owned 8 inch sct and Televue Pronto and even though costs twice
as much its views are exponentially superior!

The Tak FS-102 is an incredible refractor. I have not gotten ahintof false color
on any object yet! The star test performs exactly like most of my books say it should!

Snaps into focus with no color whatsoever. Tack sharp bright views that defy its aperature. Incredible high contrast with inky dark backgound. Built with superb integrity. Now I know why they call stars "jewels." Used with an EM200 mount that is a joy to operate. Quality; You see it, feel it, know it. Takahashi clearly cares to build the very finest and I thank them for making it available. A wise choice that will bring many years of pleasure.

Perfect pinpoint stars, limited only by the atmosphere, no color (you can see color on objects lower than about 30 degrees above the horizon, but that's the atmosphere, not the scope). The only limits of this scope are the objective diameter and the physical size - it's big for a 4"; not easily airline portable. An 8" SCT does a bit better on DSO's, but surprisingly little given the area difference. On starsplitting, there's no contest: the theoretical gain of the larger 8" scope loses out to the optical near-perfection (not that I can tell that it's not perfect) of the Tak. Mechanically wonderful, very smooth.

Fantastic telescope for those wanting an excellent optics and mechanical construction. Extremely smooth focuser with provisions for adjustment. Well worth the money. The only improvement I can think of is a better way than a friction fit of the lens cap to the dew shield.

optically stunning. mechanics are superb, with the best focuser I have ever used. a bit unwieldy compared to some of the faster apos available but nevertheless set the standard for me in judging all other apos.

Very sharp images. Star test as never seen before. Joovian moons like pinholes
with diffraction rings. Magnification up to 400x (with TeleVue 2.5x Powermate
and Vixen LV 5mm) at perfect seeing. I used it on a Losmandy GM 8.
