Borg 100mm Achromat
This scope fits everything I was looking for in a very easy to setup, very light weight, & quality scope for $1500 or less. I have the SWII package this is a nice and easy setup, but a more substantial tripod may be wanted and or mount. The images dance up to 5sec. It does some show chromatic Aberration on the moon. The views are extremely crisp and bright. The helical focuser is so precise you have no doubt about your image being in focus. The fit and finish are very nice and this scope is MADE for travelling! I purchased the travel bag and the objective has a bag of it's own. The scope breaks down into 2-3 sections depending on how you want to do it and the 7X50 finder is recommended. The entire setup costs 3X as much as other 4" Ach setups, but mine gets used 3X than my C102HD did. Also I paid $1000 less than a TV85 and got VERY acceptable image and build quality. For this aperture size I am very glad I purchased this over the TV85.

Borg 100mm Achromat
I bought the Borg for a quick grab 'n go scope, and also for traveling when there just isn't room for anything else. I wanted a 4" aperture as it provides acceptable image brightness for those quick peeks of planets and brighter deep sky objects. I figured it would also be a great comet scope. I ordered the OTA along with a set of Borg mounting rings.

The Borg has lived up to my expectations. It is very light and easy to use on small alt-az mounts. The build quality is excellent, much better than it appears in photos. It is almost all metal and finished in a nice, glossy white paint. The mounting rings are also metal and painted white. The helical focuser is very smooth and a joy to use. It includes built in extension to easily reach focus with a Tele Vue 2" diagonal and many different kinds of eyepieces. The lens is tack sharp and shows more detail on Jupiter and Saturn at 128x than I expected from a fast achromat. Yes, there is quite a bit of false color on Jupiter and bright stars, but this has never bothered me as I've used various refractors for years.

In short, I'm very happy with the Borg 100 as a light-weight, high quality travel scope. For the money it can't be beat.

Borg 100mm Achromat
I really like the borg's up grade system. I have very good views with this scope. It's easy to set up and start viewing. There is some color on bright objects but no more then other hi-end achro's. This scope is not that expensive compared to other top achro's and offers the same quality. I Now have two borg scopes just by purchasing the objective in a size. Try that with a Televue.
