It has lovely art, a decent story, likeable if not especially original characters,
tightly directied action scenes -- and the most abrupt and unfulfilling ending
I've ever seen. It's like they ran out of money my the time they animated the
ending, so they faked it the best they could. A darn good movie, though, if
you can get past that.

very overrated,the visuals are indeed
lovely,but the story is simplistic "save-the-world" nonsense
and then comes that ending, arrgh!
if you want good fantasy then watch 3x3 eyes or doomed megalopolis
hell, even wicked city is more worthwhile.

This movie was descent, okay story and some cool sequences, I thought the romance was a waste of tome though, and the dub added extra dialogue in the kissing scene for no reason.

This could have been great, but the ending was rushed. After he gets thrown over the cliff Kyoya gets his father's sword, jumps right back, and defeats the supreme enemy in 20-30 seconds. That's not such an amazing final battle. It should have been more challenging? He WAS the big enemy right? They should have stretches the resolution a bit longer. All they show are 2 scenes, one of that old master and the president lauding their own decision to send Kyoya, and one of him and the daughter kissing. It should have been longer.

Best Anime I've EVER seen. It had great music
and Kyoya fought with spirit and hope!
Best of all he wouldn't give up even though
he wasn't strong enough to win and knew that
he wasn't! Really great plot too!

The only redeeming feature was the inclusion of Mephisto, a sexy, demonic mage. Everything else in the movie was mediocre, bordering on bad.

and uninspired storyline kill it,
and the action sequences aren´t
strong enough to compensate......
I would have given this "4" but since so
many people are giving it an atrocious "10"
I´ll lower the rating in protest......

Worth a rent, but don't expect much in the way of a story. Very pretty visuals--notice how most everything is either blue or red for a lot of the scenes? The monsters were cool; I wish there had been more of them. I was sad when the two-headed dog died. If you are a girl, it's still worth watching because Mephisto is hot hot hot!

It's just the same storyline, a teenager who revenges the death of his father against the most powerful mofo in the world, while saving the world and the life of the president,not to metion all of mankind. Reminds me of "Star Wars." On the other hand it has great animation and some can relate to the problems in their own life in some way. Terrible ending.
