AD Police Files
This series is not for everybody, but I think it is one of the best representations of the dystopian-cum-technology of cyberpunk society (may even be better than the manga... don't hate me!)

This is what Bubblegum Crisis should have been. Anyone who thinks it was all smut and violence obviously lacks any sort of insight or ability to understand what that meant. It's a cautionary tale involving the dangers of building biomechanical creatures equal or superior to human beings. There has to be sex and gore! Think, kids! What got across its point better: Brainless BGC Priss-loving BS, or Leon and Jeena learning the hard way that life isn't always fair? This is one of the best anime series ever created, bar none. Anyone who thinks it's lame should apply that term to him or herself.

Let me start by saying AD Police is easily my favorite anima to date. This encludes seeing such titles as Ghost in the Shell, Akira, M-66 (subtitles, not redubed!), Appleseed (both), Ninja Scroll, All of the BGC series, Gunsmith Cats, Dragon Ball Z (ugh), Dangio (sic), Vampire Hunter D, and many, MANY more. ADP plays out stories that make sense, and more importantly, make you think. Who hasn't thought about what it would be like to have part of their body replaced? But how many of us have thought about what effects it would have on our core being? And for those of you who think that it contains to much sex and violence, look at the world today. Personally I find it frightening how near ADP hits to the truth of our society.

Bravo to whoever wrote the above comments about ADPF being true to life. This is the most honest telling of the future I've seen. It's true that we may never have Boomers or special advanced police squads but ADPF has realism in its degree of sex and violence. You know that phrase "no news is good news?" This holds true for this series. It's darker, grittier, and SMARTER than Bubblegum Crisis ever was. It has cutting edge intelligence and depth that most series lack. Only a few other anime come close to this level.

Best of all, it didn't have Priss.

This anime is perfect. The art for the second and third episode was just fine and the music emphasized emotions found in the characters. It did a superior job of exploring the depth of the characters and their situations. Instead of hiding everything being a pleasant curtain of cheerfulness the real city -- violence, sex, and all -- leapt out in full force to take the audience. A beautifully rendered anime in every possible way. For once there is a Suzuki work that doesn't rely on cute girls with huge breasts.

This is a truly ass-whuping anime in every way. Leon isn't annoying here, as opposed to how he acted in Bubblegum Crisis/Crash.

People who give this anime a poor rating obviously just watched the first few minutes of the first episode and decided it was RoboPorn. People, watch an anime before giving it a bad score. IMHO this is the best anime out there.

I enjoyed the depth of the plot and the philosophical questions in it. Like "what does it really mean to be human?" Do we know? Will we know? Do andriods dream of electronic sheep? Could a machine have a soul? Do we have souls?

Eerie, disturbing, and all around incredible. The violence is not gratuitous, nor is the sex. They all have a purpose, and it is to illustrate that the humans who built the machines are the source of the corruption. A masterpiece.

Not very good at all, I felt. Things have just sort of already happened, and unless you read the back of the box, you won't have the faintest clue what's going on. Disappointing.

I only saw the first two episodes and I really liked what I saw. The only problems I had is that the tapes came out in 30 minute sections/tape; and that the music videos that came along with that are really dated. It would be great to see Animeigo to package all three episodes into one tape. Overall, it's a good series.

The animation was excellent. The plot was very good. It seemed to go a little too fast and wasn't long enough. It was a little confusing at first, but the ending explains it all.

I gave it a 7
