If you were watching TBS during the early 90's, you may have caught the TV edit of this along with Robot Carnival(not the hacked up crud the Sci-Fi Channel has the gall to display), and an edited version of Heavy Metal. It's surprisingly popular among some people, and there are some interesting bits(D's got a face in his...hand). Some mildly odd bits--yes, your favorite "dubs or nothing" producer, Carl Macek, did this one. But one watch won't hurt you.

Interesting storyline, okay animation, I love watching this one the most for some strange reason. I love the violence. This one is good. Atleast the plot remains steady.

The story holds within it the quintessence of romance,intrigue and action. It delivers the horror yet allows the audience to feel the pain of over 12 millenia.

I have chosen to give this a 10 because I saw the screwed up TBS version and it was still awesome. It was very interesting; a good plot.

Kinda tough to rank this thing high seeing as how 37 minutes of the original were edited out from any version shown in America. The story elements, characters and all around dark themes are obviously cool, but the version I've seen (that would be the TBS one) suffered badly from editing. Really abrupt...I hope someone will bring the real version soon...and maybe they'll decide to bring parts 2 and 3 (which are supposed to be better anyway).

I thought it was a very intense and interesting story with fascinating characters. I don't know what I liked better, the action sequences or the dialogue. The film has it's own "coolness" and is a sheer classic. Normally, I don't take "Anime" very seriously, but this work is definitely an exception. You
actually care what the charaters are doing and thinking and what happens to them. I thought that it was so awesome that I would love to see it made into a big-screen version. I think it would make "Interview With the Vampire" look like a boring soap opera.

I love the intense gothis feel to this animation. How could you not love the tragic hero element. Besides, doesn't he just look incredibly cool?

The animation was great! The chacters were good and believeable. The story line was good cause it was unpredictable. Just as you thought you had the whole thing figured out and you thought you knew what would happen, you found out you were wrong. Out of all the vampire movies I have seen, this is the best.

While not really a fan of horror or vampire flicks, I still have to give this a BIG 10. The whole story is full of moral conflicts, getting deeply involved without becoming cheesy (like so many other attempts at character and plot depth). I also love the atmosphere. The whole movie has a dark tone, but D still fights on for his atonement. Really cool.

Fun to watch. I little uplifting. Sad ending but good for the type of movie.
Great movie considering the time it was made it.

this was absolutely the stupidest show i've ever watched. (with the possible exception of full house). i sat through about 30 minutes of it before i shut it off. the plot is stupid... and the whole thing was basically laughable... but the animation was good.
