wide,deep imaging. Detailed,natural high end. Limited bass & power handling. Best suited for home theater applications in small to moderate size rooms.

outstanding smooth treble; lack of bass to be expected in small enclosure with 5 inch mid/woofer and cannot be considered a drawback; of real regret is the recessed midrange which makes voices sound distant; distinct possibilities remain for improvement for a technically-minded owner who can wield a soldering iron; this is a potentially great design which has been limited by cost-cutting;

Brilliant and smooth upper end. Not at all punchy or hyped bass. Seamlessly reveals details to rival speakers in the pro arena. Can't be beat for near field monitors regardless of cost when coupled to the right amp and used at sub- 86db listening levels. Superb soundstage depth and breadth when "matched". Wait for seasonal price reductions, be picky in matching, and be amazed!

An absolute piece of shit!
What a joke!
The tweeter is plastic sounding, the midrange is terrible, and there is no bass.
Definately not an audiophile speaker.
If you want a great speaker for little money, get Sony ss-515 towers.
Thats a real speaker, this isnt!
Even with a sub.

A absolute Steal at $59 on sale. Clear high end. Bass is lacking, but what did you expect. Some losers complain about no bass, get a sub! If you stuff the cabinet with polyfill, it really helps the midrange. Great speaker.

The lx5 is great for a surround speaker and I'd give it a 10 for surround duty but as a stand alone it needs a sub also the speaker cover for the linaeum tweeter needs to be removed for the best sound to come thru. With proper placement (at least 2-3 ft from closest wall) and a sub for low freq. it can be very good for 2 ch listening although I wouldn't give it very high marks for as front mains in a ht set -up. I give it a 10 on value as I got them 1/2 price as a close out item.
