Harman Kardon AVR 100
I paid 499 for it. compared it to other receivers in that price range .the other receivers had more watts .more features but the avr 35 played just as loud and sounded clean cranked all the way up .the others sound like crap .it lacks some features but the sound quality is great in music and home theater.

... I got this receiver for around 250 US-Dollars and my rating is based on this price. The sound is very clear, and the basic in- and outputs are there.
However, I miss a six channel preout and a 5.1 input as well as a s-vhs in and out for superior picture quality. The remote allows me to control my TV and VCR as well - good job.

The missing DTS is not necessary, most DVDs come with DD 5.1 - which is sufficient for home theater.

For every one looking for a good receiver: take the AVR 35 if you get it for 200 - 300 bucks. If not, take the brand new AVR300 - which includes 24bit/96khz for future developments like Super Audio CD.
