Hats off to Atlantic Technology, these speakers sound as good as systems costing thousands more. I have them hooked up to a Yamaha DSP A-1 and they crank. You can play these speakers very LOUD with no distortion and the surrounds are awsome. There's plenty of bass from the sub as well. If you are thinking about getting speakers in this price area, you should have a listen to these, you'll be glad you did

I second the above rating and comment. Mine are hooked to a Harman Kardon AVR-85 and the speakers sound incredible on all material from jazz to rock to movies. I auditioned the Energys, Definitive Technology Cinemas, Carvers, Klipsch, PSBs, and many others before buying the ATs. The PSBs were next in my humble order of preference.

I am voting a 9 not a 10 because I assume that there may be something better out there that I have not yet heard. In fact I did not do exhaustive head to head listening compares. Reading other people's reviews I identified some speakers in my price range and then shopped around for price. I found these on a closeout for about $1000 including shipping (from www.onecall.com). I am a happy camper. FYI, I am driving them with Sony DVP-S7700, SONY STR-DA50ES, and DH Labs speaker cables and interconnects.

The center channel is the best part of the group - very good. The L/R speakers seem to be overshadowed by the center (maybe my setup). When used in 2-channel stereo they are excellent though.
The look is fairly basic - black boxes. Not bad, but nothing special to look at.
