Denon AVR-2800
I purchased this receiver at A&B Sound (Edmonton)in Alberta Canada on 09/21/01. The Denon AVR-3802 replaced my aging Yamaha RXV-2092 receiver.

Whether watching DTS ES 6.1 dvd's like "Gladiator", or Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks... all sound very nearly like the THX theatres I've watched my favorite movies in. The seven 110W/ch amplifiers drive my Paradigm Monitor speakers at reference listening levels without a hint of strain or distortion or clipping. The matrix surroundback channel decoder works very well with 5.1 soundtracks. It is also a nice option to have the two pairs of surround left/right speaker outputs to accomidate either direct radiating or dipole speakers for music and movies. The DTS Neo:6 music mode is very natural sounding and enjoyable with all music genres! The component video inputs pass thru 480i,480p,720p & 1080i signals without any visible signal degradation or coloring.

This receiver would be a perfect 10 if just a few extra features were added...
It could use a few more digital inputs/outputs; it would be nice if the OSD worked on the component (Y/PB/PR) output as well, and; it would be nice if there were video & audio inputs on the front panel of the unit for the PS2.
