I don't understand why these groups knock bose.
I bought mine through name recognition and once I added a power sub I have been quite pleased.

Bose makes terribly over-priced speakers. They're worth 1/3 what they charge for them. They are at best, mediocre. Name recognition? What's in a name? That's what happens when people buy logos and don't audition equipment. If you buy these things, you deserve them.

i dont know about the particular bose am7, but i know for a fact that the bose lifestyle 25 sounds awesome for movies, though i cant say much for rap music though. But I could care less because I dont listen to music in my house, just movies. As for those other speaker companies, there is always someone that makes better quality. But I know they arent much better. And some of them are a lot more expensive than Bose, so dont talk about price. Plus Bose will be around A lot longer than them, gauranteed! Whats in a name? MONEY, thats what. And they have plenty of it. So who cares what you think about Bose.

Bought these speakers in white because of the name, sound and looks (it disappears into walls!). Got it at close out price ($425) since these are just for L/R and center while the L/R/C/rears is more popular model these days.

Sounds very good/excellent for the price. I tested Cambridge, Polk and others but you don't get more quality sound AND it cost more for those brands. The Bose ARE very well designed and they have been around for a long time.

Would have bought another set just for the looks! The white cabinet(s) ARE very good looking. I know, you are all into AWESOME sound. I didn't want to pay $$$$ for AWESOME sound. These Bose represents the best I can do for the money spent. SIMPLE.

Bose suck! I had a lifestyle 8 system and give it to me mother just to get it out of the house. Bose uses cheap speakers box and wiring.
save your money and go buy the ENERGY TAKE5 for alot less money and you'll be very pleased!

I had the AM7 for almost a year. It plays a one note bass. It sounded terrible and lacks punch. It is also made of cheap material. I got so angry with myself for being suckered on the Bose name.

Anyway, I would advice strongly against anyone buying these set of speakers. It could and probably would be the most terrible audio decision you've ever made.

bad poor and cheap are the words that best descibe this horable speakers i got this setup at a pawn shop for $100 and still feel riped off!! avoid them like the plauge

It is interesting that all the messages knocking the Bose speakers in this forum seem to have a real problem with spelling. Hmmmm. By the way, I have Bose AM-7 for my front speakers and AM-5 for the rear channels, along with a powered subwoofer and have been very happy.

I initially purchased these speakers after listening to numerous local dealers hype them beyond compare. And true, I did think they were quite nice until I purchased a pair of B&W DM605s for the rear. I thought that I would have a little fun comparing the two with the receiver's A/B switch. Instead, my fun turned into a knot into my stomach as I realized the mistake I made. The definition of the mids and highs along with the relatively tight and punchy bass made me realize that young kids hawking Bose at Best Buy, The Good Guys, and Future Shop have no idea what lies outside their store walls and in the hands of high end dealers. The only plus I would give Bose would be in the area of aesthetics. Many wives have been lured into an $800 speaker purchase with the goal of keeping a ghastly speaker setup out of their view.

I bought the AM7 (White) at closeout for $450. It looks great and the cubes hide well. I don't have enough amp power running them since I'm only using a cheap AIWA mini with 50 watts (and that's bogues 50 watts - if you know want I mean) so I can't say they sound great. But a good strong receiver or amp will fix that. I also have power subs so there's no complains about the bass.

Note: Don't run good speakers from a mini system. It's wasted. But I couldn't afford to upgrade my receiver/amp...Yet.

There seem to be so many people that "knock" these AM7s for junk. They are not junk. Looks are important, I don't want great speakers that look out of place in my living room. I wanted and got a great deal on good speakers from a solid brand. If you don't like yours, then you have made a mistake with your money. I like my AM7 speakers and for the money, they are great.

Shrilling highs, poor bass extension, gaps in frequency band from 200Hz to 280Hz where the satellites and so called bass module are crossed over. This is what I noticed just listening to these horribly overmarketed overhyped speakers. You are much better off with lest costly alternatives such as Energy Take 5 or Klipsh Synergies.

Bose is all about marketing, not product quality.

I have been very please with my purchase, great sounding speakers and virtually invisible. By the way, I also have Bose AM-7 for my front speakers and AM-5 for the rear channels, along with a 150 watt Dual 10 inch, powered subwoofer, which I had to add to get the type of bass response I required and have been very happy.

The Bose AM series is one of the Best sounding speakers I have heard at a Bose Authorised dealer, Atlas Hi-fi in Singapore. They did sound awesome! So I bought a pair and hooked it to a Harmon Kardon AVR 30 receiver and the sound was worse than my Aiwa Mini Hi-Fi. So I guess proper matching is very essential for the Bose. Could be the reason why so many people hate Bose. I also lost a lot by selling it off at half the price I paid for.

I have BOSE AM7 & AM5 which I have coupled together to come up with home theater system. Both of these are in 'Black' color. I have been using these for about 1.5 years & I am extremely happy with it's performance. I am planning to sell these systems though to move on to a better configuration. I have the Bose AM-7 and AM-3s in white. There sound is above average for home theater and below average for music. I gather most people here are not married or have the perfect wife. The biggest selling point for these speakers are the looks and size. In white they are virtually invisible. I would have never have been convinced my wife without this selling point. If you want a good home theater system at a decent price, this is a good buy and may be your only option if your married!

I can't understand how some people can like Bose speakers.
Sounds as good as a cheap midi system from Sony or Aiwa or Philips.
Which is OK if it was cheap but at the price ....
