Meade Ultra Wide Angle 14mm
About like a 13Nag, only better with NO lateral color - I liked it well enough to buy a second one for a large binocular telescope - probably a bargain

Meade Ultra Wide Angle 14mm
A great eyepiece if you have a 2 inch focuser. I think that one would be looking for trouble using it in a 1.25 inch focuser and star diaganol. It does not have the safety notch in the barrel that Naglers have. To see the entire field, most of the eyecup has to be down. This aspect confused me for a few months, as it is the opposite to my 9mm Nagler, where the eyecup is best entirely up to easily see the entire field. In my f4.5 14.5 inch dob, it is the eyepiece of choice for tracking down the hundreds of small open clusters in Mon, Car, Vel and the Magellanic Clouds.

Meade Ultra Wide Angle 14mm
Absolutely fine eyepiece, lighter than the 13 Nagler without any kidney beaning problems. I have the older style without the eyecup and rubber grip ring. Stunning midpower views in my 8" SCT, with excellent brightness. I never knew what I was missing until I purchased one of these.

Meade Ultra Wide Angle 14mm
Only its weight is a problem, and only on some scopes.
But with most currect f/4.5-f/10 telescopes, this could
be the Optimum Eyepiece. Sharp field, excellent contrast,
easy to use eye relief, it's a winner. No inherent astig-
matism. If you see the stars with coma, you can rest
assured that it's your scope, not the eyepiece.

Meade Ultra Wide Angle 14mm
Just started using this remarkable eyepiece. Big piece of glass but it really delivers. I put it on M-13 on a Meade LX200 16" and the sight was unbelievable. I have never seen this much detail and clarity on any scope, including very large dobs. This eyepiece deserves the acclaim it is receiving.

Meade Ultra Wide Angle 14mm
I have been using this eyepiece in my circa 1980 C8 for about a year now. I use this more than any other eyepiece. The image scale is something I don't see talked about too much. The combination of 140x in the 8" SCT with the amazing wide true and apparent field of view makes for a very versitile combination. I find myself just leaving this eyepiece in the diagonal for most of the night.

Meade Ultra Wide Angle 14mm
I just recently purchased this eyepiece to add to my growing collection. I can only say that the money invested in it was well worth every penny. To be sure, it is one very big piece of glass and weighs as much as all my others combined. As to it's performance, I'll sum it up in one word -- SPECTACULAR!!! This eyepiece will probably get used more than all the others combined also. In my telescope it gives me a tad over 71x and with it's very wide field and excellent optics, the views of the various star clusters, galaxies and nebulae can really be appreciated. Eyepieces can be, and most of the time are, very individual items. This eyepiece may not be for everyone, but if you own a good telescope and are contemplating the purchase of just one more eyepiece, you owe it to yourself to check this one out. Spend the money and enjoy what it will give you. Granted there are others out there like the 12mm Nagler etc. but I seriously doubt if any of them will work better than this superb example from Meade. It has to be their best effort in an eyepiece to date. As the old saying goes, "Just do it!" The rewards will be HUGE.

Meade Ultra Wide Angle 14mm
This is my go-to eyepiece. Beats my former 13mm Nagler in every way possible. Sharper in fast Dobs (center and edge), far more color free, more contrast, etc... Great for both DSO's and planets. Works well barlowed also. The best single eyepiece one can add to their collection!

Meade Ultra Wide Angle 14mm
When I originally rated this eyepiece I was using it in a 6" reflector. I have since purchased a 6" refractor and would like to further report that this eyepiece works equally well in both telelscopes. As stated prior, it is big and heavy but very well worth every penney paid for it. Versatile well made and optically excellent for all types of viewing, especially clusters and galaxies.
My most used eyepiece with both telescopes.

Great eyepiece and well-deserving of its reputation. Sharp to the edge with good contrast. Designed so you can easily take in the entire field of view. Good eye relief. A true leader in its class.

Meade Ultra Wide Angle 14mm
Simply a Wonderful eyepiece for the cost. Works wonders on my ten inch f/5.6.
Coupling it to my Tele Vue 2.5x Powermate and pointing the scope at the moon
yields the feeling of looking out a spaceship's huge front window, rather than
down a narrow tube as with other high power eyepieces. I call this one,
"the Glass Hand Grenade".

I put this monster in a newly acquired Televue Everbright Diagonal,(1.25") and aimed it at the Orion Nebula, I almost fell over I was so impressed with the incredible veiw. It couldn't have been any sharper! Televue brags about the "walk in space" feeling of the Nagler, this was most definitely equal to that. I was just as impressed with the 8.8 of the same series. Truly 21st century product!! By the way, I was using a Meade LX200 8" SCT. If you can afford it, pick this eyepiece up. You won't be sorry!
