Denon AVR-3300
Having only had this unit for a few days, upgraded from an onkyo prologic intergrated amp, I have been totally impressed with this Receiver. I listen to about 50\50 music and HT. Music sounds smooth and clear with well balance in highs and lows. No harhness or brightness as with many other receivers I've heard. The 5-Channel stereo mode is a real treat. It uses no DSP processing and is full five channels of music. For home theater this Receiver is fantastic. I have not heard the DTS yet, but the DD puts you in the middle of the action with great room shaking bass and clear open surround effects. This Receiver is packed with features and fully upgradable. The only negative comment I can find with this receiver is I would have liked a RF input to hookup DD for my laser disc player, but I guess nothings perfect. If your in the market give this Receiver a try.

Denon AVR-3300
setup:
pioneer 414 dvd
definitive bp-2004
definitive lcr 2002 as center
magnaplaner smg(c) as rears

after testing out the 3200 for a month, i decided to spring the extra $100 and get the 3300, i figured it was worth it to get the component video, dts decoding, dual surrounds and 20 more watts.
i do like my 3300 very much and it is a great bargain for the under 1000 market. the only part that i am somewhat disappointed in is its ability to drive my maggies (granted, not many receivers can do it to begin with). on the other hand, it's more than enough for my deftechs - i have yet to crank it above -25 when listening to dd movies)
it may not be state of the art like a lexicon or parasound, but hey, for under 1000, it can't be beat! higly recomend it if you can't go true high end.

This unit is replacing a Denon 3200 and Millennium 2.4.6. just like the 3200 it sounds great, even better. More power for movies, music sounds sweet and warm, and DTS is amazing. Wish it had an Built in RF-Demodulater, I had to order a external one from the local Denon Dealer. Looks as good as it sounds, It passed the "wife test" with flying colors. I highly recommend this unit for movie lovers.... and for those who appreciate the great sound of DTS music. I'm giving this unit a TEN even though it deserves TWENTY.

Denon AVR-3300
I had both the AVR 3300 and the Yamaha RX-V 995 in the house. I kept the Denon because it sounded better. 5 Ch Stereo is wonderful. I am very pleased with the deep rich sound, power, features and especially the rear (surround) speaker options. For the under $1000 space, this is a terrific product. It has most of the features of the 5700 at 1/3 the price. An awsome value.

The Denon 3300 has everything I was looking for and was within my budget.
Sound quality is excellent in both 2 and 5 channel applications.
Best of all, I got this receiver for only $749 with 2 year warranty.

Denon AVR-3300
My new AVR 3300 that I have just bought replaces my previous AVR 3200 with AVD 1000 DTS decoder. The only negative point I give is that it is not equipped of a RF demodulator. So I have to order the Yamaha ADP 1 equipement. Except this, AVR 3300 is a very fine and clear DD and DTS ampli. Listen it and you will be charmed.

Denon AVR-3300
Yesterday, I bought my new avr3300. It's a great receiver. I just have two comments :

1)No optical output
2)No different volume control for each source (or I did not find it!)

Except that, the sound is very clear, it's easy to use and has very good decoders....

Denon AVR-3300
My last receiver was a Pioneer VSX-D606S. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! The Pioneer was good, and this is that much better. Much better sounding music, seems to float around the room much more than the Pioneer. 5 channel stereo is now de facto for any future purchase. DD is very clear, the center channel is very audible even in loud action scenes. The only gripe is lack of AC-3 RF demodulator, but all low end, most mid-range, and even a lot of high end receivers are excluding that these days.. So I bought an external Sony demodulator (all I really have left on DD LD is Star Wars SE and Braveheart anyways).

Reccomended.

Denon AVR-3300
I had the Yamaha RX-V2092 and loved it, but after hearing the 3300 I moved the Yamaha to my bedroom system. Instead of the sound coming from the soundstage in front of you (with some surround effects) it made you part of the movie especially with DTS. Music also sounded very natural and involving. On Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, selection #4 Money the beginning with the numerous chiming clocks, the sound was incredible. From the sweet spot I could place each clock within the room, great imaging. Bass was a little tamer than the Yamaha, but more refined, no boom. An ealrier reviewer said he was unable to adjust levels for each format. It is possible using the ch select/enter button in the middle of the four arraws on the bottom right of the remote. It allows adjustment of FR, CENTER, FL, RL, RR, SW, and fade from front to back. I had thought about getting the RX-V2095 but after a friend said bass management was a problem (which I demoed and agree) I saw the 3300, bought it, and love it. The only problem is the remote, kind of klugy. I plan to replace it with the Pronto anyway. A 10+.

Denon AVR-3300
This receiver has the best feature package of any $1000 receiver, plus it is
the best sounding $1000 receiver. There is plenty of power, even with
inefficient NHT SuperOnes. Stereo sound in Direct mode is terrific - smooth,
detailed, and absolutely no background noise. 5 Channel Stereo and Matrix
are surround modes that actually sound good. And the DD and DPL decoding
are as good as any receiver I've heard. My DVD player (Sony 300) doesn't do
DTS, so I can't comment on it.

The megabuck receivers like the AVR5700 and SR18 do sound slightly better,
but cost more than twice as much. This is just a great deal.

Weaknesses are minor. The remote is just OK, but I'm glad I have a SL9000.
The volume display on the front should be bigger. And I wish it had one more
coax digital input. Other than that, I'm still thrilled after 5 months.

Denon AVR-3300
I owned the Yamaha RX-V995 for a few days before trading it in for the Denon AVR-3300. The sound is much better and because I listen to a lot of music, the 5 channel stereo makes all the difference. It also sounds better in HT. For a receiver under $1000, this seems to be the best choice.

Excellent receiver - sound is very smooth. One minor complaint is the lack of an RF demodulator for the AC-3 output from my Laser Disk player. Highly recommended.

Denon AVR-3300
Great sound, very flexible, lots of jacks. With a good unit, I have not found any limitations.

Unfortunately, my first unit was not so good; the LFE output was very weak initially, and then the system died completely. Fortunately I had purchased from Magnolia locally (great guys), and simply swapped it out. The new unit is excellent in all respects.

Downsides: Setting the system up requires it be connected to a video monitor (tv), but the menues are then very easy to follow. The remote is an ergonomic nightmare, but it's a complex receiver. There are insufficient analog jacks (in and out) for my purposes, but it does sport more than any other receiver within 50% of the price. The S-Video and Composite signals are both switched, but are kept separate, so my laserdisc (composite-only) signal requires a different video jack on th monitor than the S-VHS and the DVD decks. No station-labelling or RDS (or I haven't found it.)

Upsides: Plenty of power and depth. Very easy to configure once the video monitor is connected. Extreme video and audio flexibility; any type of source (dual analog RCA, coax-digital, or optical-digital) can be configured for almost any device, in any order. All sorts of video inputs (composite, component, S-Video) and audio inputs.

Definitely a great system.

Denon AVR-3300
well built and solid a/v receiver. The Denon does have a mono movie (dsp) and 5 channel stereo. All though the denon lacks two features an a/v input on front of the receiver and a digital output. It does make up for it in performance. Crank it up!!!!!!

Great buy! Exceptional value!

However, a few draw backs:
1. GETS VERY HOT!!!! I had to install fans.
2. Only one digital coax input.
3. Remote.
4. My first one was defective and I had to exchange it.

I liked the sound a lot. It was so much better than my old onkio (about same price range 5 years ago. I hated to change it for an other brand but this machiene humed so much that there were times that I wanted to switch it of to get rid of the humming. It was the reciever itself that hummed. And the second one did the same. No I own a Rotel 965. It sounds even better and no hums. The controls of the denon were better though.
