Comprehensive website offers some good prices on a/v gear. Some items require you to email a price quote request to them. There are no phone numbers. I emailed them for a price on a JVC 3600U S-VHS VCR. Came back with a $210.00 price quote - about $20 cheaper than anyone else, plus FREE shipping. Despite having a lousy return policy (restocking fees, limited time, only if defective), I took a chance. Placed order over the net, got immediate email confirm of order. Website clearly states 10-15 business day deliveries (they ship from various warehouses, including BestBuy on Long Island). Good order-tracking tools on their website. I received item, double boxed, within the specified time. *However* the item was a "repack", or "open-box" item. The box had obviously been opened and resealed, and the batteries were installed in the remote (no manufacturers ship that way!). Otherwise, the unit looked new, all accessories, warranty info and literature were included. Two weeks later the unit is functioning fine. If it were not for the user-friendly website and the low price, they'd get a "0", since at no time was there any indication that I would receive a repack instead of a factory-sealed box. I will not purchase from them again, and do not recommend them.

I placed an order for SONY DVP S530D DVD/CD the advertisement
stated free shipping, when the e-mail confirmation came it
included a charge for shipping. The original advertisement also
stated that the item was avilable and will be shipped with in
3-10 working days. After 15 ays when the web tracking did not
have any trackiing number, I e-mailed asking for the tracking
number, I got a standard replay from the stock clerk that it
is not a back ordered item and will receive in 3-5 days.They
had charged my account on the same day I ordered, but did not
ship the item even after one month. I wrote my card company to
stop payment and strongly admonished the store, but got no
reply. I strongly recommend people be not duped by the low
price and use this company. Any one who has a complaint should
write to consumer protection department and better busines bereo
about this company and get it out of business

They never send me my order. They just charged my credit card and never delivered my order. They are a scam operation. They lure shoppers in with their professional looking website and charge their credit cards. They regularly change the name on their account that charges shoppers credit cards. DON'T ORDER FROM THIS PLACE.

This company definitely needs to be shut down!
On 7/31 I ordered a Sony DVP-S560D DVD player from them because it was the lowest price on pricewatch.com and it had free shipping. On 8/14 I e-mailed them to find out where my order was and of course, received a stock reply of the item will be shipped in 3-5 business days. I waited over a week and e-mailed them again. I got the same stock reply. I finally threatened to get third party assistance if my order wasn't filled and within two days (8/29), there was a tracking number assigned to my order. I received the order on 9/7 only to discover they had substituted a DVP-C600 saying that the unit I ordered was discontinued or the manufacturer has stopped production. That is a lie! I called Sony and the DVP-S570D is in fact one of their newest models and has not been discontinued and is still in production. Since I got the second stock reply from them, they have not answered any more e-mails from me. Some of you may say that what they sent costs more than what I bought and I should be happy, but the model I received does not have the features I wanted when I placed my order to begin with. Besides, they are required by New York law to get the customer's consent before making any substitutions. They, in my opinion, are a fraud and a scam. Whatever you do, do NOT buy from this company!
There have been enough complaints about theweb-shop.com to warrant the New York Attorney General's Office filing suit against them. I only wish I had discovered this BEFORE I placed the order so I wouldn't have to go through all of this. Don't make the same mistake as me. The few bucks you may save are not worth the hassle.

On Sep 1st,2000 I ordered DVD Sony model 560D.The Web -shop immediately charged my credit card but as of today,Oct 8th I still did not receive it and my communication through the E mail(no fax or tel Nr is mentioned on their Web page) were not answered.I will have to contact the bank which issued my credit card to dispute the charge.It is clear that it is a scam operation and should be investigated.I intend to contact the Attorney General of New York State and suggest that this company be investigated and hopefully prevented from conducting business in the State of New York.

They Charge my credit card the same day a order (9/01/00).
They have not send nothing until today (10/10/00).
They do not answer my emails
They do not have a phone to speek to a sales person.
This company is a shame and should be closed down.

Same Problem as stated by many others. I ordered a Pioneer DVD player over 2 months ago; the price was $60 cheaper than more reputable sites. They waited one month to inform me the player I purchased was "backordered" and that they would credit my account for the full amount. It has been a month since I received that e-mail, still no credit. I now wish I had researched this company a little more before purchasing from them as there is volumes of complaints for this company online. I understand there is a class action lawsuit against this company for precisely this reason so I plan on looking into getting involved with that and have, of course, disputed the charge with my credit card company. If anyone has any method of contacting this company that had been successful in getting there money back from I would be interested to here it.

I've had the same experience lots of other peolpe have had: they ding your credit card on the day of your order but don't ship your product until 6-8 weeks afterwards (even though they claim they will ship within 10-15 business days). Customer service is unresponsive and unhelpful.

On the plus side, they do offer the lowest prices I've seen for digital cameras. I bought an Olympus C-3030 Zoom from them. I'm definitely never shopping here again. The price difference isn't worth the anxiety and poor experience.

It's difficult to believe that such a company could exist. I ordered a JVC receiever ($270) on October 10. They have charged me like all the others BEFORE the item is shipped. It is October 27. Nothing. No response to my email. I called and can "leave a message" but the voicemail directory is full. Avoid these clowns.

I ordered a sony TRV720 camcorder and some accessories on Oct. 1. They charged me the same day, and on the sales confirmation it said that the order will be shipped within 10-14 days. After 2 weeks I called them with their sales number I found some place on their web site, the number was disconnected. So I emailed them, but the mail was undelivable. Then I called my credit card to see what they can do, but Discover could only give me a telephone number of theweb-shop's billing department. I called them, but no one answered so left several messages on their answering machine but they never reply me either. Then I kept emailing them, and I finally got a response on Oct. 18 from this Makio shipping clerk appologizing for the delay and promised to ship my camcorder within 4-6 days. I emailed them again couple days ago, again no response. As of today, Oct. 27 I still received no camcorder nor response from them. They just ripped me off $850. This is very discouraging to buy anything from the internet again!

Wish I'd found this site sooner. I ordered a Sony DCRTRV320 video camera on Oct 1, 2000. Credit card hit same day. Order status online says "NOT SHIPPED" although promise was 10 - 14 days. After 20+ days, I emailed and response says sorry, will recieve 4-6 days. Same experience as others. Telephone numbers disconnected emails NOW undeliverable. As of November 5, still nothing, $675 in limbo, will appeal to my credit card company to refund. I wish I could earn the interst off of all the money that The web-shop is holding, even if they credit my account, the made a little off my $$ while they had it. I think New York Prosecutor is after them too.

I placed an order on 10-18-00. for a panosonic camcorder,and as of 12-05-00 still haven't received the product, but of course have been billed for it! if anyone is even remotely thinking of ordering from this place, do yourself a favor and pay the extra from somplace that will deliver!

Also if anyone knows anything about a class action suite please let me know i will be more then happy to get involved!!!
