Siebert's finderscopes
I purchased the 7.5x50 right angle, correct-image, illuminated reticule finder scope. I ordered over the phone and actually spoke to the person who was going to make it for me, so he was very knowledgeable. The finder comes with snug plastic caps for both the eyepiece and the objective, attached to the mounting rings with elastic so you won't use them. The instructions that came with it were very poorly written, but got its point across. Attaching the base was trivial (the mounting screw they sent me was way too short, but a trip to Home Depot fixed that). They also sent me replacement batteries, a very nice touch.

In the field, it performed wonderfully, and I wonder how I ever did without it. It's a snap to fasten to the base, and can be aligned in about a minute. The eyepiece is high quality, with stars sharp nearly to the edge. Eye relief is very comfortable too. The illuminated crosshairs, I must admit, was a bit of an extravagence that a budget conscious person could easily do without, unless your skies are a whole lot darker than mine. I can see the crosshairs just fine without illumination. The diagonal rotates, so there's zero neck strain.

It's nice and compact, so it does not displace my Telrad. The combination of Telrad plus Siebert Finder is very formidable indeed.

This thing looks like it wa assembled with Superglue and junk parts out of the back of a plumber's service truck.

I wish that Excelsis could somehow prevent manufacturers from posting bogus rave reviews of their own equipment under alias names.
