Items received not as described over the phone. They sell eyepieces which are suppose to be threaded for filters but when my order arrived they were not. Poor or no responses answering emails. They don't seem to take things seriously. At this point they have lost my business.

I am one of those old Fogies who still believe in Orthoscopic EPs. I saw a great deal on a 16.8mm ortho in Apogee's ad, and ordered it. The service was quick, the price was great, and it is now my favorite EP, beating out my OU
24mm Koenig and ancient A. Jaegers 32mm Plossl.
Based on my small experience with Apogee, I am very, very pleased, and have now
also ordered a 1.25" T-Adapter from them.

After being very pleased with the ortho eyepiece I bought from Apogee, I ordered a 1.25" T-Adapter from them. The good experience was repeated: I got the best price I could find, the item was received well-packed and perfect very quickly. It was not cheap plastic, it was very well-made of metal. I am convinced now that Apogee is a first-class source for astro items.

I ordered a 32mm Super Plossl and a shorty Barlow from Apogee. The order form did not specify what the shipping/handling would be, so I e-mailed a question to Apogee and was given the answer by return e-mail. The package arrived today in great shape, nicely packed, and I believe that the products will be very satisfactory. There was great service, great prices, and very nice products, and I am definitely going to be ordering more from Apogee, Inc., as my budget allows. The prices are GREAT!. The USPS shipping charge was very low, also!

I called about the 30mm Widescan eyepiece with the 84 degree FOV. They were up front about it's performance and what I could expect in my C-11. The eyepiece arrived quickly and is as advertised, beautiful! They are a value supplier and remind me of the old days of Edmund Scientific and University Optics, not afraid to carry some specialty items for astro geeks. I like em!

I faxed my order for a TV 85 and Panoramic mount to them and received a phone call a few hours later. Jason at Apogee asked if it would be OK to drop ship these directly from TeleVue. Well, I live only 40 miles from Suffern, NY, so I thought that was ideal. Jason got TeleVue to ship everything that Friday and Monday morning I was unpacking the scope and mount. Two days later Jason called to check if everything was OK. Everything was great. Apogee's prices for TeleVue products are typical. But with this incredible service, I will order more from Apogee.

I ordered ETX RA for $179.95. It came two days later. Scope seems to be
new, but the Box looks very old. Are these scopes made two years ago
or what?

Apogee has good selection and prices, but their customer service is far from stellar.
My first order (small telescope) arrived DOA, and Apogee referred me to mfr, instead of doing quick exchange as is customary on defective items.
After considerable time the mfr did get me a new scope (which later had to be exchanged again).
Since I had paid extra for expedited delivery I feel it unfair I had to waste so much of my time and did not get to use what I paid for for almost 2 months.

I still gave Apogee another chance with accesories before making a major purchase.
Unfortunately, I got one defective item (lens) again. I was unpleasantly surprised when Jason, instead of prompt exchange, started to give me run arounds about returning the defective item at my expense first.
Because the item was defective, I did not feel it my duty to spend $4 to ship a $7 item back and asked for them to arrange for return at their expense.
Jason hem-and-hawed and promised to work something out, but I still don't have the working lens.

Because of this totally unsatisfactory service my next $3,000+ order will be placed elsewhere.

Ordered a fantastic tripod at a great introductory price. A CG-5 knock-off made in China. Very sturdy and good quality, leaves you puzzled at the low price paid.

Initially, Jason did not have them in stock, but he did gave a estimated delivery time. I moved during all this and e-mailed him my new address. The tripod made it to my new place on time. Great personalized service and price.

Their ads always contain new products with introductory or clearance prices. I commend these folks for providing affordable alternatives to typically high-priced products.
