Gobs of dynamic headroom - no need worrying about clipping! Very low distortion even at the highest volume levels. Didn't notice "less than stellar performance" in upper frequency response one reviewer (from Home Theater magazine, if I remember correctly) noted. Works well with music as well as HT, IMO. The only thing I would add to this amp are analog gauges indicating power levels.

reasonable price, plenty of power, 100db+ with no distortion, no mechanical hum or noise, easy to hook up & input levels are adjustable, IMHO you would have to go to KRELL type pricing to beat it.

Purchased this amp at onecall for $657. An incredible deal for this amount of money, and a good match for the Magnepan speakers that I am running with it. These require quite a large amount of power to open up, and the Carver is more than adequate, and creates a truly open soundstage on both music and home theater. I would highly reccommend this amp to any one, especially at this price.

Great Amp for the price, mine was $500. Clean and loud, great upgrade to any low budget receiver that has 5 pre outs. Or pre-amp/amp set up.

I have two AV-705x's they are absolutely awesome. I cant't wait untill Carver comes out with a AC-3 / DTS Pre-Amp. These are an absolute bargain when you consider they have an THX Ultra certification. Power, Power and more Power.

An excellent amplifier! I've owned mine for 4 years now and it has never even batted an eye at what I could throw at it (it's the only part of my system I haven't replaced yet!) Highly recommended to anyone that is serious about sound.

Great amp. Great price. I have owned mine since 1992. I paid $500 for it then as an open box unit and it has performed perfectly for 13 years. Easily handles 4 ohm speakers at insanely high levels. Sound is clear and powerful. Never gets too hot.
