Peleng 12X50 GS
I assume you mean Peleng 12x40GS. These are a good, sharp glass. They outperform the Canon 12x30s in both optics and stabilization. They are much heavier however, and have slightly less field. I have had several pairs of them, as I deal in them a bit. Quality control is poor from Peleng, so you need to trust your source on them. When they work, they are great however. They are also very similar to the more expensive and slightly better 16x40 Zenit binoculars, also produced for the Russian military. The 16x40s are one of my favorite binocs for astro-viewing as they stabilized and resolve significantly better than my Canon 15x45IS, though the latter are a better everyday glass because they are lighter and have a wider field.
