Denon AVR 95
I saw one of these today at a Sears for $759 dollars. It had I think 100 Watts Per channel, not sure of the On-Screen Display, but tons of inputs, including s-video.

Has anyone bought one of these... If so, please add a review. I'm interested.

This is the same as the AVR-2700 but it is designed for mail order market.
Overall, it is an excellent product with a street price of about 550.00
This unit does have the capability to accept 24bit/96khz audio format
on the newer/advanced CD/DVD player.

Glenn, I'm also in Houston.
I've been doing much research on a new quality A/V reciever, had all but settled on a Yamaha 992 on the "open box" shelf at Home Entertainment for $550. Found a AVR-95 at Sears last week for $369.95!!. Demo unit, I got them to take off another 15%, bringing the price to $319.00!!! At thiat price it is a steal.
So far , I've been pleased. I'm coming from a 7-year old Luxman 361, a stereo-only unit that I still think is best, most dynamic mid-priced receiver ever made.
In the short time I've used it, the Denon sounds great on DVD/ 5.1 music and movies, if not quite as "punchy" and efforless as the Luxman.
Once I get some more hours with this unit unde my belt, I'll report back with a rating. For now, a qualified "7".

Denon AVR 95
I give the Denon AVR 95 a solid 8 because it has a good chassis and excellect amount of inputs and is upgradeable. This one of more durable build a/v receivers compared to the Sonys,Pioneer,JVC and Kenwood units out there. For the money this unit couldn't be beat because I bought mine at Good Guys as floor demo with a Denon five disc changer for 450.00 I call this a steal. I upgraded from Pioneer pro logic receiver and it sounds 10 times better and cleaner sounding like a more high end unit.

Denon AVR 95
Purchased one from Sears for $499 and couldn't be happier. Great sound (especially Dolby D) and I love the 5-channel stereo. The remote can be confusing, but what remote isn't?

awseome unit.upgraded from a sony.My home theatre sounds excellent.The optical output makes a huge difference,and the on screen display makes things easy.I couldn't get my dvd player to function off s-video,but I have no manual for the denon,and there may be a trick.sound quality is crisp,and the multiple output modes work great.
