I bought the system for about $900 minus the two rear channels. For music I think they sound pretty good for the price. The monitors are full range, but they can be a bit weak in the lows hence the sub. It creates a nice sound stage without any DSP. I tested it against the Boston Acoustics Micro90ts and the DefTechs had a more natural sound that made you think the group playing was on a stage in front of you, while the Micro90's sounded like you were in a studio and sounded a bit bright. For movies the center blended nicely with the mains and sub. Heard "Air Force One" over then and they were pretty awesome. Neighbors complained though. Probably sounded like I really had a 747 in my apartment. Anyways I have no complaints with them. I'm going to be supplementing these speakers with Def Tech BX1's in a few days to give them a nice matching rear. My current rears just don't match the system.

I heard a demonstration of the Pro Cinemas and was amazed. Does anyone know where I could find a good deal on these speakers?

This is an outstanding system. Throw away the notion that this is just a sub/sat system and just listen to them! I fell in love with the ProCinemas from the get go, but somewhere during my research and auditioning, I convinced myself that I should be spending more money and getting something more "substantial." I was leaning towards B&W 601s/602s or the 700 series bookshelf speakers from Monitor Audio. Those are great speakers--don't get me wrong. But in the final analysis, I had to admit that I thought the ProCinemas sounded just as good, and they were a fraction of the cost and much smaller and more flexible for mounting. But let your own ears decide for you because someone else familiar with these set-ups may think I'm out of my mind. Home Theater magazine just reviewed a set of small M&K's (the 55s or something?) and clearly preferred them over the ProCinemas. But when I listened to the same ones (and even the more expensive S85s), I wasn't as happy. Go figure. No....go listen!

After spent a month research on this site and visited the local audio store, I bought the ProCinema 100.6 with a 12" sub upgrade for under $1300. This is my first Digital Home theather system. I use the Yamaha 992 Receiver, Pioneer DV-505, monster cable XP and Sanus System's Euro Foundations adjustable speaker stand. After a week burn in and a little tune up follow by the both manufactory's manual. I have to tell you the sound is 10X better than the Bose AM10 for movies and lot better than Wharfedale Modus Monitor MFM5 or the Infinity RS speakers for music. Well, It also looks extremely attractive in my apartment with the all the black furniture. Thanks to everyone that post your comment on this site. I have to give it a 5 +.

Pro Cinemas are a great home theatre setup. I have had nothing but praise for them when I got them 4 months ago. I compared with the Boston, Klipsch etc. The DT's provided a better soundstage and imaging.

FOR SALE::: If interested in the purchase of the Pro Cinema 100.6 please send email to cue@email4u.com or call 281-660-2303 (anytime)

I bought 2 Pro Tower 400's, a C-2 center, and a pair of Pro Monitor 200's for the rear for ~$1700 (pre tax). I've had this system for 3 weeks and it continues to blow me away. For the cost, I did not find any other speakers that could deliver this level of performance and quality. Music sounds great, but hooking this system up to an AC-3 receiver really lets them shine! Movie watching has turned into a sport with these bad boys! I'm afraid going to the local theater just won't be the same anymore, because I'm spoiled.

I've played them loud, played them quite, listened to music, and watched movies, and I've yet to be disappointed with them. The highs are crisp and clear and the bass shakes my living room like a small earthquake.

Excellent sound! Picked these up from Audio, etc. in Dayton OH for $1,215 for the 5.1 speaker set (L/R/Center/Surround L/Surround R/Subwoofer).

I listened to Polk speakers and B&W Solid series (and all the widely available speakers such as Bose, etc). These were clearly the best - excellent bass and high end sound.

After doing lots of research on the net and running around trying to find dealers who carried the different speakers I was interested in, it was an easy decision to buy the Def Tec's. I've had these speakers for a couple months now and have really enjoyed my experience. Listening to my favorite CD's is like hearing them for the first time. These speakers are very musical, but where they really tend to show their stuff is home theater. That's Def Tec's claim to fame and rightfully so. When everything is dialed in and the sub is rumbling and just before my neighbor starts pounding on the wall you can experience the best of what home theater audio is all about. Of course, if you have the bank account the 3000tl's I listened to are down right dangerous. One thing to note is that Def Tec tends to share components between speaker lines. What that means is that these little Pro Monitors get the same high quality tweeters and a similar type woofer as the monster sized $5000/pair 3000tl's. The only thing I might add is second sub for added flexibilty and bass response.
