- Can buy (can buy cheaper elsewhere) and rent (reasonable pricing)
- Can buy rented discs if you like them (they will subtract the rent
charges from the purchase price); haven't done this though
- Bought once and rented one (so far); both arrived on time
- Rent order arrived in *two days* - wow!!! Discs were in excellent condition
- Can find better prices for brand new DVD'S at DVD Express (for most titles)
- No discount for older releases (my local rental place offers 2-for-1 for older titles)
- One of the best selections available
- Haven't dealt with Customer Service yet

My first order was shipped promptly. My second order was shipped a day late (they were swamped), and when I complained, they provided a free rental! Quick E-mail responses, excellent customer service.

TRIED TO USE A COUPON FOR 2 FREE MOVIES FROM A SONY DVD PLAYER--AFTER 40 MINUTES OF FRUSTRATION I E-MAILED CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR HELP, THAT WAS 10 DAYS AGO----STILL WAITING FOR A PROMISED REPLY IN 24 HOURS. RETURNED THE SONY AND BOUGHT A PANASONIC--NO FREE DISCS BUT I'M HAPPY

Customer service is terrific. One movie had subtitles which was too hard to read and they gave me some free rentals. Another shipment arrived late due to some crazy Christmas postal service delay and they extended my viewing period no problem. I highly recommend it.

Excellent selection. Looks like they have all DVD ever released on this planet. I bought 5 Indian movies(under foreign) and they all arrived in less than a week and are excellent quality and a lot cheaper than the local India video stores in DC area and on the web. Most of the movies I bought are priced around 29.99 on the web and 34.99 in local stores. But at NetFlix I got them for under 25 and under 20.

Have rented about 20 or so discs so far, and each order has arrived quickly, flawlessly and in good condition.

Selection is great, and if you know you'll be renting a lot, pre-paying for a group of rentals (15, 30, etc.) is a great bargain.

Definitely the way to go for previewing DVDs that you are not sure you want to own, or just to see movies you didn't catch in the theater or on video.

I rented from NetFlix a few weeks ago with the 15 Free rentals for new customers. I ordered over the weekend and received the DVD's on Wednesday. The only problem I have with NetFlix is that they sent me the wrong DVD, but I watched the movie any way. NetFlix was also willing to send me the DVD I originally requested.

I would use NEtFlix again, which I ahve already ordered another set of rentals, hopefully, all teh DVD's I rented will be in this package.

They usually deliver on time, but I've had multiple instances where a day or two postal delay causes them to begin charging extra fees. I've had DVD's arrive cracked on more than one occasion and was not able to get a refund for my rental period. My advice is that if you rent from them, be sure to return the DVD's two to three days early or they will be able to snag you for twice the money in rental fees.

Used their "free" offer to rent 3 for shipping cost of $3.22.

Other than that, their rental fee of $3.50 plus $1.00 shipping
is higher than the local store.

Still the largest selection of DVDs for mainstream movies. Foreign selection is lacking although another site webjade.com is beginning to offer similar rentals for Hong Kong movies. Recently netflix has gotten slack in customer service but still more convenient than blockbuster and hollywood.

I received a free trial membership with my new DVD player. I ordered per instructions and received nothing for over a week. I informed them by email, and verified my address - they said the would re-order. I received their e-mail that the reorder had shipped. I waited another week and a half; still no DVD's. Since my trial month was now almost over, I cancelled my membership, explaining that I never received any DVD's. They confirmed my cancellation and that I would not be charged. A month later, guess what? - they send me an e-mail stating that I will be charged for unreturned DVD's. It's been 4 days and no response from their Customer Service dept (an oxymoron). No product, no service, no alternate way to communicate (phone). No recommendation from me.

This is about the $20 monthly membership. Never receive movies in time.
Multiple instances of movies being lost and not received. Don't know whom
to blame the long standing postal service or netflix. Customer service
is poor in replying to mails.

WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE FIRST DVD RECIEVED AND THEV SHORT TIME IT TOOK.I THINK THE PRICE IS SO GOOD FOR EVERYTHING YOU GET FOR A MONTHLY FEE.I HAVE MS AND SOMETIMES IT IS VERY HARD TO GET OUT FOR MOVIE RENTALS.NOW I HAVE THE CONVENIENCE OF MY HOME TO ORDER AND THEN MAIL BACK.BUT THERE IS ONE PROMBLEM I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET BACK IN .HOPE THAT IS CORRECTED SOON.

Delivery of DVD's has deteriorated significantly over the past month. DVD's are not promptly acknowedged as recieved. Worse yet, DVD's are stuck in "Released to Ship" Status for days and days without shipping. Customer service personnel cannot or will not help. Management has isolated themselves from day to day problems.This kind of complacency is a disease that will bring this company down. RentMyDVD.com is a competitor set to launch a competative flat rate program. Lets all cancel and bring Netflix to their knees.

Awesome. Just awesome. I've been using them since Feburary 2000, and I can't say enough good stuff.
The main feature is the flat-fee design. You pay $15-$35 a month, depending on how many DVD's you want at home at one time (from 2-8). Then, they just make sure you always have that many at home. You send one back, they send the next one on your list.
Beyond that, customer service has been great, their web-site is well designed and run, they have great selection and finally, it takes at most 4 days between the time I send in one DVD and recieve the next. Most times, if I send in a DVD in the Monday mail, I get the next on in my mailbox by Wednesday! It might help that I'm in the same area (SF Bay Area) as they are, but I love it. Get this service and never pay late fees again!

They suck! I have been a member for over 7 months. It takes me 9 to 11 days to receive my next movie after they say it has been released. Customer Service tries to blame the USPO but they wont tell me how long after they say they ship it until it has left their property...

I can't wait to find another service with a flat rate. If you know of one please list it!

I also think they should go down because they are too cool to list a customer service number.
