The guy "jay" promises to sell a receiver to match competitor's price but then when I call back turns around and jacks up the price. Sleezy!!!

CALLED AND CHARGED AVR2092 AND AFTER 9 CALLS AND 4 WEEKS STILL WAS " ON THE WAY"
SAID I WANTED MY MONEY BACK BUT GOT TALKED INTO DENON AVR3600
GOT IT 12 DAYS LATER THEY SENT IT COD FOR 150.00 MORE!! OVER THE 1230.00
OF MY MONEY THEY ALLREADY HAD WENT ON AND PAID THE UPS MAN BUT WILL NOT ORDER
FROM THEM AGAIN! MARK ... KY.

Ordered a Marantz CD player two months ago. They claimed to deliver it in 10 days. It had never arrived until in the next a month and a half. So, I called and canceled it two weeks ago. So far, I haven't received my credit yet. I have authorized my credit card company to deal with it.

Read other reviews but had only a positive experience with Nick at Stereo ABC. They had a tough item to find (a Sony S-3000 DVD) at a good price. They took the time to answer lots of technical questions and delivered right on time for the agreed upon price. I'll do business with ABC again.

When I order my NAD A/V 716 and the sale rep. said it's brand new but when I received it and it was used and boxed very badly.

Ordered a tape deck and reciever. Two months later, I had gotten neither.
I cancelled both orders, but was charged for the deck. Still trying to fix that.

Each time I would call, the answer was different: It was sent, It's on the way, It'll be in our stock next week, and finally, It's discontinued, do you want something that costs more? No thanks.

Call to complain, and they'll likely tell you their "computer broke down." It's broken down a lot, unless you want to order something. Call the Better Business Bureau in their area and you'll find they are given an unsatisfactory rating by them as well.

ordered pioneer vsx-07tx on a thurs eve,received e-mail confirmation on friday.seen alot of negative comments on web about them kind of made me leary.So on sunday nite i e-mail them to get tracking #,but no responce on monday so e-mailed them again but still no responce on tuesday, so really got to wonder what was going on since no responce and credit card has been charged.so i called and talked to Jay to see if it was shipped told me computers were down and warehouse was closed and couldnt check but to call back tomorrow.by now i'm not very pleased, so e-mailed Jay and told him since my credit card had been charged and i requested next day delivery that i expected to see receiver by friday or cancel my order,and that i've already talked to my credit card co. about getting my money back if not receieved.low and behold on friday what shows up but my receiver nicely double boxed and in factory sealed box.checked tracking # showed package was sent weds eve after i threatend them so guess i got thru to them dont think ill ever deal with them again i can see where they can be trouble guess i got lucky,delivery was ok since i pushed,prices were real good,

I ordered a complete system, and they promised to have it to me in 10-14 days. After 2 weeks, I called to get a tracking number, and Jay said that they couldn't give it out. During about 8 calls, they kept promising that it had been sent, or that their computers had messed up the order, and each time promised that I would have it in a couple of days. After 6 weeks, I finally called to cancel the order. They agreed, but the money never showed up on my card. I called back and Angela said that they didn't do business with the on-line Card Services in order to credit me. She said that I would have to dispute the charge with my credit card co. and that I could get my money that way. These people lie everytime you talk to them and I will never do business with them, again. I am contacting the FTC and reporting them, as well as the BBB in their area.

I ordered a Yamaha 2092 receiver in Sept. of 1997. I received it promptly at a good price, however it was broken. I returned it a my expense, to receive yet another yamaha 2092. This one the cut off circuit would kick in when I turned it on, broken 2092 #2. I spent the months of Dec to July to finally get them to recognize that
1: I existed as an upset customer.
2: They owed me either a working receiver, or a refund.
I am currently getting a credit return from my Visa. THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!! If you a get a working product (always a good price) it would be worth it, BUT I SUGGEST FINDING ANOTHER SHOP!!!

i ordered an onkyo dx-7711 cd player from "dave" at abc. he gave me a decent price of $549.00 on 8/7/98 so i ordered it. they are located in north nj and i'm located in south new jersey. they said it is in stock and i should have it in 3-4 days. 3-4 days come and go and i call back. they said that the 1st one was damaged so i should have it by 8/14. 8/14 comes and goes so i call back; now its the "it is being shipped today".
they billed my creditcard on 8/7/98 of course without it being shipped yet. it finally arrived on 8/20/98 in new condition. i have a real problem with companies that want your money asap but then take 2 weeks to ship it. most others will not bill you until shipped!!!!
the customer service needs to improve as well as the salespeople.

The service was excellent, received my shipment in 7 days. The box that the two products were shipped in looked kind of crappy but the components inside were in good condition, with lots of packing material and sealed original manufactors boxes. This was my first experience with them and i will probably use them again in the future. thks geo

If you look closely at Stereo ABC's web site you see that the audio portions
are riped from Alphasound HTML, they share the same typo's.

Prices are good but expect a very long wait for your equipment, up to three weeks. They charge your account on the day of the order. I have had no satisfaction when inquiring about the status of my order. Would not order from them again.

Ordered full system and was promptly billed but after six weeks and over 20 phone calls with every excuse already mentioned in previous surveys had only received two of five items shipped. One of these, the B&K amp had the wrong face plate and chassis and the serial number had been removed and replaced with another number. Both boxes had been opened before they were shipped to me. I do not know if the equipment was new or not. Called B&K and they said the serial number was not one of theirs and therefore no manufacturers warranty. Everytime you call, you will be put on hold for at least 20 minutes and finally told that the person you need to talk to is not there or that the computer is down and to call back tomorrow. Buy at your own risk.

They had a pair of PSB Stratus Gold i's (which list for around 2500) delivered to my house in 2 1/2 weeks for about 1800. They were always courteous to me when I called and did not have to wait that long. I too was kind of apprehensive when I saw what other people said but I have had no problem with them and would probably do business with them again

Did you guys see a pattern here? Everytime when someone or two puts a real bad rating for this company someone else will post a 7 or above (even 10) for abcstereo.com! Hm, what a coincidence....

Prices are good. Service, attitude and responsibility to the customer is not there. Shipping on time is absolutly terrible! Even on stock items. The company/individual will bill your credit card when the order is placed not when it is shipped. Shipping REALLY takes 2 - 3 weeks for an item. Not 7 - 10 days as quoted. Refunding to credit card takes 2 - 4 weeks if your lucky.

For the difference in price (as compared to other companies) v/s the absolute run around one gets from this company I would not recommend buying from this company. StereoABC & Alphsound are the same company and you deal with the same people.

Do not buy from these people. I bought a sub and after weeks and weeks of phone calls, letters they finally admitted that they couldn't fill the order. Then it took weeks and weeks to get the charge credited to my credit card after I wrote my credit card company a letter. These people are a scam.
