Terrible service. Slow shipping and are not factory authorized dealers for some items. Took three months to finally credit my card for cancelled order. They do not belong to Better Business. Buyer beware.

If you hear "would you order right now if I give it to you for $XXX?", $XXX being $25 - $50 less than your best price, hang up. That's the line I fell for and an 8 month ordeal began. I was lied to, sworn at, hung up on, and ripped off. I absolutely have never seen customer service this bad. If I was anywhere close to the store, I would have gone in with a gun, and held these con artists to thier word. They hide behind the phone, and there isn't anything you can do. Since they seem to come to this site to post thier friendly policy, maybe they could explain thier Better Business Bureau rating? Does the Attorney General of your state have a file on your business practices? Well, ABC, What do you have to say? I would rather pay 20% OVER retail than deal with ABC again

Same experience as many others. Ordered yamaha RV X995. Was told 7 to 10 day delivery. It never came. Was told that the unit was shipped late from California warehouse. It still didn't come. Called again. Was told the unit had been water damaged but a new one was on the way. Again it never came. When I checked with cred card company found out I had been billed twice. When I called a third time salesmen was initially hostile, they opined as to how the reps are really busy and so they lie to get rid of customers who call to check on their orders. I cancelled and will have the credit card company deal with them.

I bought a B&K AVR-202. I got the best price that I could find and was told 10-14 days delivery. I called them at 14 days and was put on hold several times but once someone assisted me, they looked up my order and gave me the UPS tracking number. They also told me to contact/ask for my sales person directly so that I would not be put on hold again. I thought that they were very helpful. One thing I am a bit nervous about was the fact that the serial number on the original B&K box was cut out. However, it appeared that the container was the original and was not opened and was double boxed from abcstereo. It appeared new (untampered in the original box) and sounds great.

The only prompt service this company gives is to charge your credit card. Then the fun begins. You get the runaround, your salesman is always on break, the supervisor is never there, etc. etc. I would never do business with these people. I finally got my credit issued after many calls, threats, and emails to them. I have subsequently gotten great service from Audio Headquarters in Kansas, and Camera World of Oregon. I'd never buy anything from ABC Stereo, regardless of how cheap they were. They don't give a damn about their customers. Stay away.

Today is 27 Mar. 1999. I contacted ABCStereo 18 Feb 1999 and agreed to purchase a SONY 7700 DVD player for 895.00, from salesman "John", with a promise of three day delivery. My Visa Card was charged the same day to a company named Alpha Sound & Vision (732) 617-07559NJ (This number appears on the credit card statement but it is disconnected)I did not receive the product by 25 Feb. 99. I called and requested to speak to John and was put on hold for 15 minutes in which about every five minutes someone would come to the phone and ask who I was holding for. I never reached John. I made numerous calls to asking and waiting to speak to "John" to no avail(one lasting over an hour). On 10 Mar 99 I requested the order be cancelled and a credit to my VISA Card. I was promised that the order would be cancelled. It wasn't nor was it sent. On Friday 26 Mar. I was again promised a credit to my card, to no avail. I have contacted my credit card to dispute this purchase. Hopefully I can resolve this through them but to date I absolutely cannot get any resolution from ABCSTEREO. In more than two years of Internet purchasing I have never done business with such a disreputable Co.

There is no words to describe how bad this company ( Stereo ABC). I Recently ordered a Klipsch KSW-12 , after many calls all i gots was lies after lies. If you are thinking about order anything from them i am strongly not recommended. Very simple, they just don't give a Damn about you after your credit card has been charged.( usually right after your order) then good luck with it. i was fortunated enough to recieved my order exactly one month later.

I ordered a Yamaha TX-950 receiver from ABC Stereo, and like everyone else my credit card was charged immediately. After several weeks of calls and questioning, my Yamaha arrived.It had no warranty card and after calling Yamaha with the serial number, I was told that ABC Stereo was not an authorized dealer and that I had no warranty.I would never order from them again.I also feel very uneasy knowing that these people have my credit card number in their files!

Yikes!!!! Ordered a Sony 7700 a few days ago from this company and then I found
this site. I'll let you know how I make out. I will post feedback on this site, positive or negative. I've already given Uncle Stereo a good recommendation based on my experience purchasing a Denon 5700. I'll do the same for stereoabc if they take good care of me. Wish me luck.

The 8 rating above is mine, I'm adding these comments in explanation for my rating.

As promised, I'm posting a review for stereo abc as I have recieved my SONY 7700
DVD player. I ordered the product directly off of the internet and spoke to no
one at stereo abc when placing the order. I recieved the unit about one month after placing the order. I thought that one month was a reasonable period of time, since I was never given an ETA. If I waited a month after being promised that it would take two weeks, I would have been irritated. I paid $925 including shipping, which seems to be a competive. There was a limited warranty card included. It arrived double boxed and has performed flawlessly for the past month.

I have a couple negative comments, however. After I placed the order, I was not sent a confirmation email. In addition, they should have sent me an email
when the unit was shipped to me, so I would know to watch for it. My unit was sent back to stereoabc when UPS failed to deliver it because I was not home to recieve it. UPS was partly to blame, but it would never have been sent back if I had recieved an email to let me know that the package was coming. However, after the mistake was made, UPS and stereo abc did a good job turning the package around and getting it to me a couple days later. Also in their defense, I could have mistyped my email address when placing the order.

I did call stereo abc during the shipping problem to see if they could let me know if they had reshipped the package. All I will say from this experience is
that you should know exactly what you want to buy when buying from this company. This is a good rule to follow with any mail order stereo equipment company. Do the equipment research on the internet or with stereo magazines. Don't do your research at your local stereo shop unless you have a sincere intent to buy from them if you decide to buy something they carry and they offer you a reasonable price. The dealer is offering a service and therefore deserves a few dollars more than the best price you can find on the internet.

I would be willing to do business with this company again. I see that the last negative comment about stereo abc was posted over 6 months ago, so perhaps they have improved their service during that time.

I am considering a class action law suit against ABC Stereo.
Considering the numerous complaints just on this site I am sure
there are numerous others. I was billed after I specifically told
"Steve the manager" not to bill my card due to a price quote
dispute. Of course I am getting the same problems.

Well I'm not going to put up with their BS. Since this involves
interstate commerce, the suit will be in Federal Court,we'll see
how well their excuses hold up to Federal Judge. For all of you how wish

They charged me for slightly less tha $1200 for a Marantz SR-19. They are now selling it for $1299 S&H not included. I know it's a bargain but their customer service really sucks!!!!! I called them several times already. I called them
yesterday (July 12) to ask for the status and they said that they shipped it June 30 (when I purchased it - billed on my card statement) and shall be on my
doorstep by the end of this week. I'm suspicious though because the guy
told me to call the next day to get the tracking number which doesn't make
sense because he should have it there if he shipped it. I had to hang up
because I was driving. Anyway, I called this morning and got a tracking
number and when I checked it, the item was only shipped yesterday (July 12)!
I was not in a hurry to get my receiver but it is upsetting to know that
they are giving me a runaround. Then I called again to ask them why it was
only shipped yesterday, the time I called. The girl I talked to first put
me on hold (I waited for about 5 minutes then hangup to call her again...and
she took the call, i don't know what she's so busy about, although I kept hearing a pause and a sucking sound), then it seems like she's taking my call via a speaker phone because I can hear a guy talking to her. She looked up my order and I asked her the question. She immediately told me that the receiver they got was broken so they sent me another one. Again I am suspicious because if the first one was damaged, the guy I talked to yesterday should have told me so. I am telling you, do not buy from these guys. I took a risk, maybe mine would be an isolated case (of good business), but apparently, it's not. I will be looking at other vendors. I am not in a hurry to get my receiver but I know when I am given the runaround and one cannot do business with scrupulous people like ABCstereo (btw, their store is called Alpa Sound and Vision, but the
receiver did not come from them because UPS told me the shipment came from a
company called Alliance Technologies. It must have been outsourced from them by
ABCstereo, I figure).

FYI,

Then i found this out:

They are actually regiestered as a company with two names and they are traded publicly. Let's all short this POS!

I would give them less than a 0 rating if it was possible. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Very unfriendly sales people - would not answer simple questions like where my DVD player was, would be put on hold for 10-15 minutes at a time with no response, was spoken to rudely, failed to credit my credit card after I had cancelled the order for over three weeks.

It is my goal that these people be put out of business never to anger another good paying customer. Please do not order from this company if you expect any type of courtesy.

BELIEVE ALL THE NEGATIVE POSTS YOU READ HERE. These people are lowest form of scum on the face of the earth. I ordered six quantities of the Panasonic TU-HDS20 HDTV decoder on June 6th and was told they would arrive in a week. My card was charged that day. Items never showed up. Called numerous times and was strung along every time--"we shipped it today...oh, you'll get them in a few days, etc, etc." Finally after about a month I discovered through various other contacts that that particular model has not even been released by Panasonic to dealers (and will not be until late September). I was irritated at not being informed of this and then being given the run-around, but figured oh well, at least I'll get them as soon as they are available. In the meantime, I saw another internet mailorder company (audioexcellence.com) that was taking preorders for the same item for $75 less than Stereo ABC. I called and spoke with Joey to ask for a possible price match and she said yes. I called her a second time to verify that she had credited my card for the difference and she confirmed this. But my card was never credited. At this point I just decided to cancel the order and take my business someplace else. They said they would immediately cancel the order. But surprise, surprise, my card was never credited. They keep saying I need to speak to Donna in the credit department. But of course Donna is never around--"oh she's on a cigarette break right now, call back in 15 minutes...she's out sick today and won't be back till next week, etc." Finally by some miracle I was able to get a hold of her. I asked why my card had not been credited even though the order had been cancelled two weeks ago, and she conveniently replied "I wasn't here two weeks ago." She said she would have "look into the situation and get back to me." But of course she never did. To this day there has been no credit to my card. Then tonight I stumbled upon this site and needless to say was floored at the similar experiences of many others. I just called my card company and will be fling a formal dispute through them. BOTTOM LINE, IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SLEAZEBALLS AFTER READING ALL THESE POSTS, DON'T BLAME ANYONE BUT YOURSELF WHEN YOU GET SCREWED.

Bunch of liars, charged CC, never shipped product. Now the BBB, Internet Fraud COntrol Center, my CC company everybody is dealing with them. Wonder why there are no state laws that can put the people running these companies into jail.

NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY, also goes under other names
alphasound, warfdale etc, I would suggest never even go anywhere near Englishtown, Manalapan NJ to buy any AV stuff. There are other nicer places.
