Zeiss Flat Field Orthoscopic 25mm

In designing my AP/Baader Binocular Viewer adjustable eyepiece holders, I tried out almost every Zeiss Abbe Ortho eyepiece, and the 25 mm A-25's were my absolute favorite ones. They have very comfortable eye relief with glasses on as well. These were the only ZAO that I was comfortable observing with my glasses on. I previously choose 3 pairs of TeleVue Radians for my AP/Baader binocular viewer (18mm, 6mm, and 4mm), because of their excellent eye relief, their large viewing area, and because it was so very difficult to buy the ZAO's. Several months ago, I acquired one A-25 eyepiece and I was so impressed again, that I began a world-wide search to try to find a match. I finally found someone willing to sell me his pair after about 2-3 months of looking, and even though I only wanted to buy one, I went ahead and bought them both since the seller insisted. These were the most expensive eyepieces that I have ever bought but the sharpness and clarity have to be seen to be believed. The Radians were very good, with comfortable eye relief, but not quite as sharp or contrasty, and the color rendition was not quite as absolutely colorless like the A-25 are. Recently the prices have gone up from about $500 to $600 or so per eyepiece last year to about $700 to $800 each now -- so they are very very very expensive! I feel lucky to have found mine, and I plan to keep these for the rest of my life.

Price: cheap when considering the perfect quality of this eyepiece

But small FoV. Not problematic but quite small
