ZEISS APQ 100mm F640mm
I have directly compared the Zeiss 100/640 APQ to another telescope, a Teton LOMO 95/650. The Zeiss is an excellent. Despite the 5mm handicap, the LOMO proved to be superior optic to me AND the owner of the Zeiss. Testing included a variety of high quality widefield and high power oculars, including those made by Docter, Nikon, TeleVue, TMB, and Takahashi. Performance was very close in regards to image quality, but surprisingly, field contrast was noticeably better in the LOMO....sorry!

I have had two 100/640 and both were superb. If you can get one with the quick-change drawtube , it will be more convenient. Should have been perfect 10/10 overall with a retractable dewshield and a case like the Traveler.

ZEISS APQ 100mm F640mm
Why spend on an APQ ZEISS 100mm over twice the cost of a TMB or AP same size scope ? Pick a night of really steady Seeing and set up a Takahashi 4", AP 4", TMB 4" next to the APQ , on Jupiter: TMB will come in second after the APQ, followed by the others, in terms of contrast, resolution, color correction.
The APQ will blow you away!!
Also, the APQ comes with a Test Report Optical Interferometry Report.

ZEISS APQ 100mm F640mm
This is the most perfect Apo yet. Built like a tank. Please note you have to use a PRISM diagonal to get perfection with these optics. The new Baader FFC introduces some color error at high magnification. Use a Zeiss Barlow.

ZEISS APQ 100mm F640mm
This is pure Zeiss: Perfect optics, superb mechanics.
If there's anything big to be done in optics, leave it to the Germans.
I give this a 10. An amazing scope. The best to use with the Zeiss/Dokter
eyepiece. Truly inspiring.

ZEISS APQ 100mm F640mm
According to the optical certificate, RMS wavefront error of my APQ100/640 is
ă/35, strehl ratio is 97.39%. I think these values are fairly good as short-
focal-length telescope. Abbe-25mm is most frequently useing eyepiece. Visual
quality is excellent in spite of useing two or three Barlow-Lens.
I can clearly see the Antares companion by useing(~2 Zeiss Barlow lens +
~5 Barlow lens + A-25mm)or(~2 Zeiss Barlow lens + A-4mm)
