Zeiss Abbe Orthoscopic 4mm
ZEISS Abbe/Ortho are a visible step above other brands/types for planetary study. Highly recommended.

Zeiss Abbe Orthoscopic 4mm
A little short on eye relief but right up there with the best.

I rate it slightly better than the 4 mm Tak Hi-Or.

Mars was superb with my APQ 100/1000 and this wee beauty when seeing allowed.

They don't make them like this any more. Alas. For all the blurb in Sky and Telescope these wee ortho's beat em all in respect to delivering the very best planetary detail.

Zeiss Abbe Orthoscopic 4mm
This eyepiece is beautifully made, well coated . Hoewever I would question the usefulness of a 4 m.m. eyepiece with little eye relief. It is a lot easier to use a barlow and 8 m.m. eyepiece. Eye fatigue inevitably results with viewing through such a little eyepiece. It does deliver extrordinary contrast as I've found all Zeiss Ortho's do.
