Description: | I first purchased a Vixen 8-24 zoom. I wasn't pleased with the Vixen zoom mechanism, and the ergonomics were shoddy. However, the William Optics zoom is a well thought out piece. The blackened barrel, the faultless multicoatings, the smooth zoom mechanism, and the clever twist-up eyeshield, indicate intelligent design. I've used it mostly in daylight, but it works acceptably; if not quite well, at night. Don't use any telescope near a chimney flue, etc. The heat waves can foul the view with any eyepiece. All in all I'd say the William optics eyepiece is a work of art, period. It's a keeper... |
