It's kind of hard to rate them because this is the first binocular I've owned but..I'm very pleased. The L adapter that mates it to my tripod came as standard equipment from Gary Russell....very nice touch since this my preferred way of using them.

I've had a blast with them; stars and clusters in the Sagittarius region are a joy to view with nice pinpoint stars in about 70% of the generous fov. At US$100 including shipping, it's my idea of a best buy.

I gave them a nine because there are probably better binoculars out there, but certainly not for $95. The "primium" Visoners have a nice rubberized (sp) coating, with built-in covers for the 60mm optics and a push-on cover for the eyepieces. The wide angle eyepieces have a little distortion and loss of sharpness near the edges, but in actual use this is not noticable. At 12x, you are at the point where a tripod is useful (depending on application), but fortunately the $95 includes a tripod mount.

The only fault I found with these tripod is the rubber eyecups could be a bit deeper. Depending on circumstances, I can get a reflection from my eyeball due to external light. However, these same eyecups are found on many binoculars.

I had the opportunity to compare these binoculars (wide angle version) to the plossel version that sells for a bit less. The plossel version is sharp to the edges, but I noticed there is more "color" with the plossel version. The wide angle version has more eye relief and less color.

These are really a good deal.

Very sharp, almost to the edge of the wide fov. BAK4 prisms, plossl eyepieces, wonderful on my parallelogram mount. A bit too much for hand held views. After using these, I can't believe someone would pay hundreds of dollars more for other binoculars. Sure, the more expensive binocs are good optically, but THAT much better? Not in my book. My pair came a bit out of collimation but with instructions from Bill Vorce I was able to collimate them and still can't believe the bang for your buck on these binocs!

Have seen many M's. Stars over 95% of the view are very sharp. For the price these are superior binoculars - have taken them on many trips (Cabo was the last palce) and have found them to be great travel "twin scope).

Also the 60s seem almost as bright as my ST80 on many objects.

I am told that the most recent generation of this glass bears the Nova Vue name, and incorporates sturdier objective tubes and other improvements over the Visioners. I have owned Nova Vue binos for approximately one month and used them primarily for terrestrial viewing. Subjectively, resolution is good and they are enjoyable to use. A good, sturdy binocular at a very attractive price.

90% of the performance of more expensive binoculars at about 1/3 of the price. I've seen better binoculars optically. But for a small improvement in performance, you really have to shell out the big bucks. And for me, paying that much for binoculars is not worth it (since they are only binoculars). Too bulky to be used for regular binocular use (at least for me, and I weigh 130lbs, for bigger folk it might be okay). If you just need one binocular for everything, I'd look elsewhere. But for astronomy, these are pretty good.

Rich, bright and sharp views with a trace of softening at the very edge that doesn't bother my viewing. Beautiful dark emerald green multicoating. Big eyepieces (Konigs, I believe). Attached front lens covers. Eyepiece covers stay attached to the neckstrap. Lightweight but strong construction. Gary Russel even includes a tripod adapter on this great deal!

Excellent bang for the buck. Very nice 5.7 degree fov. On axis sharpness is great but there is some softening at about the last 10 percent of the fov. But the fov is so big it's hardly noticeable to me. A lightweight tripod is recommended for extended night time viewing. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.

For the price, these are exceptional astro binocs. Hand holdable (But tripod is preferred). Great eye relief and a very generous FOV. Very sharp optics, everyone I have shown have been very impressed. Bob Midiri
