Vernonscope Brandon 8mm
Excellent optics especially for planets and the moon. I also enjoy using it for resolving globular clusters. Eye relief is tight as for all orthoscopics and plossls of this focal length and may be inappropriate for users who need to wear eyeglasses.

Great planetary performer in my 4" F/10 flourite refractor and 8" F/8 reflector. These eyepieces were developed when long focal length scopes were the standard and in such instruments they are still top performers. Compaerd it with a 7mm Meade RG and Pentax SMC ortho (.965") and the Brandon ran right with them on image sharpness and contrast.

Definitely NOT an eyepiece for eyeglass wearers. The eye-relief is just about the smallest usable. Other than that, great contrast and sharpness out to about 80% of the FOV.

My favorite eyepiece in spite of the short eye relief!

This is a splendid eyepiece in a long focal length instrument. I have a Mak 3.5 f14.4 and have owned a number of premium and exotic oculars but this eyepiece is extremely sharp and contrasty. I have my best luck with this eyepiece when I need to make sure I'm getting the highest possible resolution on very subtle
low contrast objects. For sure it is a wonderful lunar and planetary eyepiece.

My second favourite in this line. 191x in my Quantum 4, 115x in my Vixen 102FL= great doubles splitter and a fine performer when barlowed.

Vernonscope Brandon 8mm
Nice eyepiece, but has largely been left behind by newer designs featuring better coatings, better edge performance, and larger apparent fields. Overpriced. Uses non-standard filter threads. Short eye relief, but better than that of 8mm TV Plossl, probably due to small 43 degree apparent field.

Vernonscope Brandon 8mm
Nice eyepiece. Noticably poorer edge performance than a TeleVue 8mm Plossl in an f/5.8 APO, also should slightly less contrast than the TeleVue 8mm. Still a fine planetary eyepiece, but a bit overpriced with respect to it's level of performance.
