Despite the fact that U.O. does not make these anymore. If you find one buy it. You will be pleased. Much better than any equivelent Plossl. Better FOV. I see no problem with the eye relief.

This 6.5mm UO Koning is awesome in my f/9 scope? It works best with f/6 or slower f/ratio telescopes. i have just the last 5% of the outer edge of the fov with coma. It has a great flat filed with super contrast. It is just as good as far as on-axis sharpness as a UO 6mm Orthoscopic. They don,t k\make them anymore . Great value. telescope8@hotmail.com

I'm very lucky and have one of these, and it is at the pinnacle of eyepiece lightness, brigntness, sharpness, and fov. It is really crisp and sharp to the edge in an f/10 4" refractor, and gets slightly soft at the edge in my f/5 6" reflector but is sharp as can be inside about an orthoscopic's afov diameter. The view is pretty big - about 62-65 degrees. It has great contrast on planets and about the best brightness on dim, small globulars that I have found, despite having 2 more air/glass sfc's than plossls or orthos. I doubt anyone could readily find one any more so it's a moot point to mention its strong points. Too bad the eye relief issue drove this one off the market.

University Optics Konig 6.5mm
Despite 8 air to glass surfaces contrast and brightness is excellent. In a side by side comparison with a Meade 7mm Research grade Orthoscopic the images were about equal. Of course what good is a 60 degree field in a short eye relief high power ocular?

Correction: I said there were 8 glass to air surfaces in the Konig 6.5mm. The Konig uses 4 lenses in a 1-2-1 lens grouping...that makes 6 air to glass surfaces.
