I've had problems splitting doubles with my 6 inch Europa Newtonian since I bought it - I tried collimating by eye with no improvement. So I decided to buy the EZ collimator - straight away I saw the secondary was pointing a good way off the centre of the primary, and I'd only been altering the primary thereby missing the main problem.
10 more minutes straightening things up and ..... outside. A new telescope! Previously unsplit doubles now split, everything sharper.
I always thought the secondary was correctly set - obviously not.
This tool is well worth the money to me because of the difference it makes.
Very well constructed too. Could have a more reflective coating to see the return spot against though.
Consider it an investment for future scopes. I use it all the time now - only takes 30 seconds to check collimation.
