A wonderful scope that's just barely airline carry on portable if you remove the dew cap. (It fits a Stellarvue C8 case)

It's convenient to set up, and cools off quickly.

The 3" German CNC focuser is nice, but I added a 2" feathertouch on the back and replaced the 100mm extension with a 60mm one so I can have a three speeds and a greater range of focus. The newer ones come with a 3.5" feathertouch that has a larger range of focus than the classic silver and white ones.

The optical quality is outstanding, and the higher contrast makes for more pleasing images than an SCT. I'm seeing detail on planets that wasn't visible on my C8.

I'm using this scope much more than I did previous ones - because it's convenient, and gives beautiful views.

This is a precision German jewel of mechanical engineering. The optics are world class with absolutely no false color in or out of focus and at any power. The contrast is excellent with nice dark background and no light scatter. The three inch focuser is massive and will handle most any weight camera or imager out today. It is also smooth as silk. The only possible down side to this scope is that it does weight in tad heavy for it's aperture but let me tell you this scope is one to hand down to the grand kids due to its very exceptional build quality. The scope thanks to its various extensions will handle a bino viewer with out the need for extra adapters and transport length is very short. The scope is expensive but well worth it.
