Televue Sol-searcher

The Sol-searcher is a simple pinhole projection device that makes it easy to align the telescope properly when attempting to view the sun
with a solar filter attached. Yes, you CAN do it by looking at the shadow cast by the telescope, and maneuvering the 'scope until it casts the smallest possible shadow, but the process is not as easy as it sounds. But, it is an absolute snap with the Sol-searcher!

My reaction was - I admit - not all that good when I first opened the box. I somehow thought that it was metal, and bigger (maybe because i am used to the Starbeam finder). However, I got over my initial silly reaction and mounted it on my TV-85.

The result? I love it, and it has become one of my favourite accessories! The unit works beautifully, just as every other piece and accessory does on the scope. Al Nagler is - quite simply - a master of design and craftsmanship! You did it again, Al!
