I like this one a little better than the tv 40mm plossl, i like the little higher magnification

the fov is nice, 50 degrees
good eyerelief
good solid build
pinpoint stars in a f 10 scope to the edge, maybee a faster scope will show some flaws?
this one is a keeper!
im sure most will like the performance of this eyepiece!

Having collected most of the TV plossls secondhand, I bought this one new.

It cost uk£105, but has been worth every penny. Views through my Orion OMC140 Maksutov with it are pinsharp right across the field of view.

I've scored eight for optical quality as it's ther best eyepiece in my collection, but I realise there may be better available. And eight for value, as despite its performance, I feel the perice is a bit high compared wuith other (almost as good) eyepeces at a third the price.

But, overall a superb low-power eyepiece.

I was not too impressed with this ep in my 8" f/6. I had pretty much the same view with my Pro-Optic 32mm plossl at less than half the price. The 25mm gives much better views in my opinion.

I really don't understand why this eyepiece is so overpriced, even the cheap Orion Plossl 32mm has the same performance.
The Celestron Ultima 30mm gives better contrast and sharpness with a larger FOV and costs 30% less.

Showed a little astigmatism near the edges in a 10" f/5,6 dob, but otherwise was wonderful. I use a 27mm Panoptic now, so it has ben sold.

This EP holds the record for the best view i'v had yet of the Veil, along with a lumicon O-III.

Good contrast, very sharp on axis.

Its the first eyepiece I put in my Nexstar 11 everytime.
It's the only plossl I have in the bag and I don't think it will
be sold anytime soon. I just really like the views it gives me.
Cost more than most but hey when you like something and it works for you you don't complain.You can say this design or that design is better but in the end its what each person likes and in this case I like this views this eyepiece gives me.Its just that simple.

I currently own both the TV 32mm and Celestron Ultima 30mm EP's. Tested side by side in a TV102 during one evening. The TV 32 was hands down winner in sharpness, contrast, and light through put. The Ultima 30mm did seem to have a larger FOV. Looking at M42 through the TV all four stars were tack sharp in the trapizium, not so in the Ultima. Both EP that peculiar evening had distortion near the edges on bright stars. I will redue this test a number of evenings to confirm these findings. Also will try a very good 12.5" F5 scope for a variation of results, if the findings are different I will update this report. Just to set something clear, I have four other Ultima EP,s and like them very much, perhaps I got hold of a less than average Ultima. And neither one of these EP are as sharp from stop to stop as higher cost WF and EWF EP's Using the refractor mentioned above.

This eyepeice gets used a lot for wonderful wide field views in an 8 inch SCT.Good eye relief, a bit of distortion unless looking directly on-axis but overall great views and contrast and quite cheap compared to the Naglers.

32mm Sharp, contrasty its all been said before here. Well suited for those of us with eye glasses with. Less added colour than my supplied kellners When barllowed it still offers better view than my 20mm kellner its fantastic in my 80mm F5.
You wont make a mistake buying this.
