TeleVue Plossl 25mm
Finally got to use my new TV 25mm. What an improvement over the stock 25mm plossls. Look and feel of ep is great, but the views are awesome. Very sharp to the edge. Even at only 48x in my 8" f/6, the belts of Jupiter were very prominent. Open cluster "came alive".

TeleVue Plossl 25mm
In compairing the TeleVue 25mm plossl with my Meade SP 26mm it was no compairson. The 25 Televue was sharpe to the edge. It is much smaller and lighter then the Meade witch is nice as a balance with the scope. Now it does cost more new ($92 vs $79) but with the view sharp to the edge its worth the extra money. Once you own this ep you will never part with it. I love the coating (green) thats on all the Televue ep's. In the light pollutition from New York City where I live the coating and the quality of the ep is so important. Excellent optics and very well made eyepiece.

TeleVue Plossl 25mm
This is the best of the reasonably priced eyepieces in this focal length range. Sharp images almost all the way to the edge of the field, and excellent contrast.

Maybe it's just me, but the eye relief on this eyepiece is just...weird. Comparing it to the supplied 26mm Plossl from Discovery i noted this:
The TV had a dark green coating on it (this is good)
The Discovery had no coatings at all
The Discovery is not sharp to the edge
The TV is fairly sharp to the edge
To observe in the TV however, you must be in one certain spot to see anything out of the eypeice.
In the Discovery, there is a little more leeway.

I use the two interchangeably, nonetheless.

I have spent several hours comparing the TV 25 Plossl to the Meade 26 super 4000 that is standard with the ETX90/EC. The TV 25 offers greater contrast and sharper image, right to the edge, than the Meade. Objects that were not visible in the Meade are very apparent in the Televue. It was impossible to see even a hint of M13 in the light poluted Chicago area skies with the Meade. The TV 25 produced an easily viewable image.
