TeleVue Nagler Type 5 26mm
You do not get any better correction in a fast F4.9 Newt than with this eyepiece. It has pinpoint stars across almost the entire field of view. Only the outer 10% has elongated stars. This is not a dish on the eyepiece, this is a normal trate inherant of this type of scope.
Expensive eyepiece for sure, but if you want the best in optics, if you want to see deeper with less abberations buy the 26 Nagler, it is worth the extra cash if you are able to afford it.
Highly recommended!
My scope seems to snap to focus when using this eyepiece, crystal clear images.

I use this on my TV85 and am pleased with its performance. There are no blackouts when off axis. Eyerelief is adequate for no eyeglasses. Contrast is very good. Views are sharp across the field, except for a tiny zone near the edge where chromatic aberration is seen. The field is uniformly curved a bit like a fish-eye view, which some people may not like. When compared to my Panoptic 35mm, the 26mm T5 gives essentially the same field of view, but at higher magnification. But I found the 26mm T5 more pleasant and easier to use. All in all I prefer the view and performance of the 26mm T5 over the 35mm Panoptic. The price is steep, but I recommend the eyepiece.

I also have the 31, but I think the 26 is the better eyepiece for the majority of people. I recently compared both of them in my 16" f4.5 with Paracorr and a 120mm F5 refractor from a yellow zone. The 26mm was simply better for my purposes. In the 16" it was sharper -- yes I know Paracorr type 1 doesn't fully correct for the 31, and it showed. When galaxy hunting in both scopes the increased contrast offered by the 26 was much more noticeable than the increased field of view offered by the 31. The 26 also has ergonomic advantages -- It's less prone to blackouts when scanning the sky, and its weight is much more manageable.

What an eyepiece.Just like all the other T5,s . Outstanding field of view.Razer sharp images almost to the field stop.Comfortable eye relief. In a large Dob in this focal length this eyepiece has no equal. Better than the 27mm Pan I sold to help finance this eyepiece.
IMHO this eyepiece is worth the money a life long keeper.

Awsome ep! complete spacewalk feel! sharp to egde in my 8" f/7 dob and only the last 10-15% shows some coma in my 10" f/5(more likley my mirror than the ep). I understand price will keep alot of people from owning one but save up and/or sell off the little used stuff and get one, I did.

This of all the EPs I have viewed has the best detail and pinpoint stars ever right with the 20mm Nagler T2. Quite pricey but you'll forget about that when viewing.

TeleVue Nagler Type 5 26mm
Steep price, but gorgeous view. Compared with Panoptic 35 and 27 on 20" RC, 16" Dob, 10" SCT, 8" SCT. The Nagler 26 was the clear winner in all. Just tiny bit less FOV than the Panoptic, but the viewed objects are a third bigger. Dark, crisp images... with slight degradation way out on the edge.
