TeleVue Nagler Type 2 20mm
Optically very very good. Eye relief was about 12mm, which is a little tight for me, even without glasses, which I don't use when i'm observing. Extremely heavy though, which is why I ended up selling, its a shame too. Used in a 10" F/5,6 dob.

I got it on ebay for about $275,, which made it excellent for the price. i would have kept it forever had it not been for the weight.

TeleVue Nagler Type 2 20mm
I have recently purchased this EP to go with my 12,17,31mm Naglers.
I must say that I read all the reviews I could and tried to get a look through one before buying, but no one had one to view through!
So I purchased it based on all the comments of value and quality and I am not disappointed!
It came in pristine condition, with glass just like new! The fist time I used it was under poor conditions. First view was very impressive! It was bright and contrast was excellent. I was able to see even under poor conditions, individual stars in a cluster that the 17mm did not quite show. Stars were pinpoints even with upper level disturbances and moisture.
I really like this EP and compare it to the 31mm Type5. Not as big a view, but just as nice.
This is a definate must for any who want the best in their collection in my opinion.
I got mine for $260 including priority mail shipping! What a deal!
:^)

TeleVue Nagler Type 2 20mm
Expensive, even used, but worth it if you must have one of the best. Compares very well to the rest of the older Nagler line (I haven't used any of the new ones yet) and is better for eye relief than the other type 2 Naglers. No obvious kidney bean effect or blackouts under the stars and very comfortable for most users who observe without glasses. You still must get your eye fairly close to the lens to see the entire field but this can be done with the eyecup in the up position, unlike the other type 2s. Contrast is excellent and stars are sharp across the entire huge field of view in most scopes. The only optical flaws seen were internal reflections (ghosts) on very bright objects and a bit of lateral color near the edge of the field. Depending on where you place the object in the field of view, these ghosts can be more or less obvious. With driven scopes, the object can be centered and the ghosts eliminated. They are less severe than in most other type 1 and 2 Naglers. Not a major problem, even on Jupiter (almost invisible on Saturn) and it is an enjoyable planetary eyepiece, especially with long focal length scopes. Really nice on clusters, nebulas and planetaries where the huge FOV and excellent resolution shine. I rate it a 9 overall because it's not quite perfect for all objects (what is?). Highly recommended.

TeleVue Nagler Type 2 20mm
Awesome. VERY contrasty, incredibly sharp image. Coupled with an OIII on a 16" dob we had incredible views of the Lagoon, Veil, Triffid, Swan and Helix nebula. Incredible value for money, purchased used, compared to the newer T4's/T5's. Tradeoff... the critter is HEAVY. On an SCT, I have 2 balance settings... this eyepiece's and everything else. On the dob, it's a 3 bungie cord eyepiece vs 1-2 for everything else. But I'm not reducing the score 'cuz people who buy this eyepiece probably know what they're getting into, and should be planning their set up accordingly.

TeleVue Nagler Type 2 20mm
This is by far the finest eyepiece I have ever used and Ive looked through alot. Its got the perfect magnification and image contrast along with the stunning fov. If I had only one eyepiece to have for the rest of my life, this would be the one ! The weight doesnt bother me at all. A 10 in every aspect !

TeleVue Nagler Type 2 20mm
Incredible views, broke my heart to sell it but it's just too heavy to be useable under most circumstances, which is why I only gave it an "8". Doesn't work in my TeleVue refractor because the tube doesn't balance even with the tube ring slid all the way back. Hard to use with my 14.5" dob because once you set enough weights to counter-balance this massive eyepiece, you can't switch eyepieces (to say, my Nagler 13) without losing your object because the tube goes swinging up towards the zenith once you pull out the 20mm. Rates a "10" for fabulous views, space-walk effect, and general glamour appeal. Difficulty of use knocks it to an "8" for me.

TeleVue Nagler Type 2 20mm
I bought the Type 2 Naglers when they first came out. I have the 20, 16, and 12. This is the best of the three and it is probably the best eyepiece I have seen. Views are sharp across the field; fields are flat and color free. Moreover, and most important to me, there are no "kidney beans", namely dark zones as you move your eye. The eyepiece is heavy, but handles well in my TV-85. The eye relief is adequate for me (no eyeglasses.) I doubt that I will ever part with this fine piece of workmanship. This is a collector's item.

TeleVue Nagler Type 2 20mm
This thing is HUGE. As big and heavy as the 31mm Nagler. Lots of glass. You feel like you are getting what you paid for. May cause some problems for refractors on less balanced mounts. Great FOV and very sharp to the edge. Every bit as good as TV22N4. Will be a collectors ep like the TV11. Best ep in the FL.
