This is a fantastic scope. Gives great views, flat fields, no false color, the Gibraltar mount is rock solid. Easy to use, quick set up. Used more often than any other scope I have.

Great telescope. Well build and with great optics. However, not in the same class as Astro-physics Traveler, Pentax 105mm, Takahashi FSQ-106 or Zeiss 100mm (optically as well as Overall fit and finish) but more like Vixen Fluorite.

I bought one of these scopes to image with using my Canon 6D. TV states that with their large field corrector, the field should be good throughout a full 35mm frame. Not true and least for me. The images suffered from distorted stars shapes, especially on the left side of the image. I sent the scope back to TV and they just made it worse. Never again. This Scope when bought with the package is as good as it gets in a 4 inch scope. I have split double stars below the Dawes limit with it cleanly. Have obtainedvery good detail levels on the planets with this scope. In the humid midwest it seems to typically to like 125 to 220 X on the planets, perhaps in a dry climate that would increase to 250 X or better. Had one night were 297X on Jupitor worked well, but those nights are few and far apart here.

The TV102 is mounted on a GP5 mount which seems to work well with it, though at higher powers it take longer to settle down.

At first I thought the cost of this scope was high, but when you see the quality of all its componets and workmanship it becomes apparent this one is one you will pass on to your children or grandchildren.
Clear Skies,
Big Al

Great scope, views are clear and sharp.
At star parties it stands up with the big boys. I've used it for two years and I'm still pleased with it.

A great all around scope. My sample shows NO false color and a textbook star test. It produces contrasty, razor sharp wide field and high power views. I always get a line of people and "oohs" and "ahhs" during public star parties. I have logged over 800 hours of observing with this scope in two years and the views continue to amaze me!

A great altazimuth mount. I'm proud to own such a scope; one of the best in its aperture.

Exquisite wide field views with no discernable aberrations. Very portable and great for planetary or deep sky photography. I acquired one to complement an 8 inch SC and ended up using it almost exclusively. Dollar per inch it is hard to imagine a better value apo

Great scope. Keep mine setup inside the back door. Easy to carry outside in one unit. Star test shows very small flaws. Great construction and fit/finish. Every time I get aperature fever I come back to the 101. Great planetary and lunar scope. It's a keeper!

A joy to own and use. Some of the best planetary views I've ever seen in a scope of this aperture. On Jupiter, GRS, transits, shadows are all crisp and clear. Saturn's cassini division with ease. Splits many close double cleanly and displays great naturual star colours with no image aberrations of false colour.
