Takahashi MT-160
Great scope. I have had this scope for six months.
I use a HEQ5 mount. The MT160 is as sharp as any scope of its size that I have ever looked through.
It is very well built and holds collimation spot on all the time.
Takes very high power well, under great seeing.
The only thing better than this scope would be a MT200.
But at much heavier wheight.
If you can find one of these 2nd hand buy it you will not regret it.

Takahashi MT-160
This could possibly be the best mid aperture scope pound for pound, dollar for dollar in the world. Everything you've heard about this scope is true, and more. It takes magnification like an Apo refractor. It is overbuilt, in a good way. The rotating focuser is a marvel. I would complain about the collimation screws (the push/pull - screw inside of a screw type), but once you collimate the scope, you NEVER have to touch it again. The dedicated reducer (f4.8) yeilds a perfectly flat field even on a 24mm dslr chip. The native f6.2 ratio is perfect for getting closer looks/images and deep sky objects, and the f8.2 makes this thing an FS160!!!. I cant say enough good things about this scope. If you are lucky enough to find one with the reducer and corrector, buy it you wont be dissapointed. Takahashi makes the most incredible mirrors in the world. Its a wonder they dont make more of them. The scope is a keeper.

Woah. Awesome clarity of image and contrast.
The only thing wrong with it is... erm, can't think of one.

Finest all around readily available 6" Newt I can think of.
Great optics and focuser. Holds collimation well. The f/8.3
corrector is fabulous. Star test shows slight under correction.

If you`re a fan of the newtonian design, I doubt you will find a finer telescope in production anywhere in the world today. Highest contrast, brightest images and by far the the sharpest six inch I`ve ever seen.
