Swarovski EL 8x32
During daylight hours this binocular seems just as bright and sharp as a world-class 8 x 42. What sets it apart from the 8 x 42s is its smaller size and lighter weight. It is simply a more portable and easy-to-carry/hand hold binocular. It is also much easier and more comfortable to use than a mini-binocular like an 8 x 20. What sets this binocular apart from other top of the line 8 x 32 models is its more ergonomic design. I have never used any other binoculars that are more comfortable to hand hold than these. When you combine that with their wide field (both true and apparent) and their superb optics and Swarovski has another winner with this model.

Although they can be used at night for astronomy a larger binocular like Swarovski's 8.5 x 42 ELs or 8 x 50 SLCs would be better suited for that purpose. The 8.5 x 42 ELs also make a superb dual purpose glass in that they can be used for both astronomy and terrestrial viewing. Where the 8 x 32s excels is for terrestrial applications. In that category they're perfect in all respects except for their high cost. Don't try a pair if you can't afford them because you be awfully tempted to get them if you do.
