As fast as they charged my credit card, I thought my DVD player was on its way. The Federal Credit Protection Act requires that a merchant can not charge a customer until the merchandise is shipped. None of my e-mail was answered. I had to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission to get my refund after 3 months of nothing. Then Shopping.com sent me an e-mail saying the player was back-ordered and they would credit my card.

Talk about fast service. I placed the my order for the Truman Show, Negotiator aand Liar, Liar on Feb 15 (Monday). On the Feb 19,(Friday) I received an email stating Liar, Liar was on backorder, but Negotiator and the Truman Show was shipped on Feb 18 (Thursday) and should arrive within 3 to 5 business days. On Feb 20 (Saturday), my DVD's were sitting in my mail box.

shopping.com shipped my DVD's faster to me than 800.com did. I will be using Shopping.com in the future.

Way to fo Shopping.com!!!

Placed an order with them and buy videos on the same day. I have recieved my original shipment plus two backordered shipments from buy videos before I even found out what part of my shopping.com order was backordered vs. in stock. I only got the status after 2 emails and a phone call, but have yet to recieve the in stock part of the shipment.

Shopping.com has good prices on DVD movies. The players run about the same price they are selling in retail locations (i.e. Sears, Montgomery Wards, etc.). However, I have had nothing but problems ordering from them. Once my order was on backorder and only after sending five e-mail messages and calling twice was I told that my item was on backorder. Customer support is poor, as there is no way of telling if your items shipped without calling an 800 number, which is busy 24/7 and then you get put on hold an average of 15 minutes.

- Ordered "Video Essential" and waited for 3 weeks and did not get an
answer until I called them and knew it was in back order.
- Usually, the phone line is always busy.
- I sent 6 emails and only got replies 3 times and uaually took at
least 3 days.

Ordered two times:
1. Three DVD's
- "Video Essentials" was backordered, and I wasn't told until I inquired
about it a week later
- It took the rest of the order to arrive in 2 1/2 weeks, after 3 or 4
phone calls to settle matters

2. Toshiba DVD player
- Arrived on time (it shipped on the same day)
- Best price anywhere (brand spanking new too)

Pros:
- The best service I've experienced (emails returned on the same day)
- The best prices for hardware (at least for the DVD player I bought)

Cons:
- Customer service/salespeople do not know a heck of a lot about the DVD
player I was inquiring about (I wanted to make sure I was buying the
correct model, since the description for that player on their website
did NOT list the machine's best features, namely DTS output and component
video output; the people I talked to didn't know what "component video" was)
- Shipping time is erratic

Overall, an excellent experience buying the DVD player (I did get the correct model, along with the best price anywhere) but a totally lousy experience with the DVD software.
