I bought this to use with my 2" BW-Optik 30mm EP. Incidentally, I bought mine from www.owlservices.com, who sells it for much less than Scopetronix does.

This barlow is a steal for the price. It performs on par with my Meade 2x shorty barlow (1.25") in terms of sharpness. One of the nice features of this barlow is that it comes with a nice compression-type 1.25" adapter, so you can use it with 1.25" EP's as well. Another nice feature is that it has filter threads on the bottom.

The coatings are very nice, and light transmission is very good. It works well with my 30mm BW-optik EP, and all of my 1.25" EP's. It is especially nice for using with 1.25" ultrawide EP's, because it allows you to keep the wide fields.

Fit and finish is suprisingly good as well. According to the packaging, this barlow is made by GS (Guan Sheng), which is the same company that makes the highly reputable dobsionians for Hardin Optical and Hands-On-Optics.

My only complaint about the barlow is that it is a very tight fit in my 2" focuser. I have to very carefully slide it in, and it rubs slightly as it is going in the focuser.

Nonetheless, it is a great buy and performs very well. I'm giving it an 9 overall, only because of the tight fit.

Exceptional value...in a field test against the TeleVue Big Barlow we were shocked that we could discern NO DIFFERENCE in sharpness and contrast. Plus this barlow had better fit and finish (it's just incredible how nicely crafted this is). I bought mine from OWL Services in PA on E-Bay ($55) and they are supurb. This is up there with the William Optics 2" diagonal in terms of quality and value...it's that good!
