Sailor Moon S: Hearts In Ice review

(Remember, if this review is helpful or well-written, please give me a good rating (down below)! Thanks for your support! *^__^)

Animation:
See my other Sailor Moon reviews, except that this is better still. All around good animation here, namely for the Snow Dancers.

Plot:
If I could get this much plot out of 60 minutes of a TV season, I think I would love Sailor Moon even more than I do. Well, I'd love the plot more, at least, as the movie sacrifices humor for story.
Anyway, what we have here is a villain with a history significant enough to give her motives for freezing the entire world, as well as two beautiful little romance stories going on between Luna and Kakeru and between Kakeru and his girlfriend.
The emotional realism of it all is rather striking: While Kakeru's able to believe in myths and magic, his girlfriend can't accept it and it creates a few scenes between them where they're having trouble understanding each other. Making it even worse is the fact that Kakeru's weak and sick.
And all the while, Luna can only watch and try to comfort him, not knowing what the exact cause of his weak state is.
It's all a nicely written little situation that's well-executed enough that I'm glad it's the main focus of the movie and not the Senshi themselves.

Humor:
Very little. This is a very serious movie.

Soundtrack:
Standard Sailor Moon quality here, although that's by no means a bad thing.

Overall:
Of the three Sailor Moon movies, this one's probably my favorite. Granted, it doesn't have two good songs other than the opening and ending like Sailor Moon R (Moon Revenge and the Power of Love), but the storyline is a bit more realistic and the enemy is a bit more believable.
Very recommended.
